The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

At least you won't shed tears when it rusts. :p

I dunno about the 3's but my 626 was made in Flat Rock, MI, which is more than a lot of American "branded" cars can say anymore.

Very true. For example, most Honda sold in this country are made in the US. Same with Toyota, Nissan, BMW and Mercedes. On the other hand, a lot of Chevys and Dodges are made in CAnada. It's pretty laughable these days.

You jinxed me...I had a bulb go out on my car on the way home. lol

Thing was shining PURPLE!? I'd flick my lights on and off, but it was still purple. It finally went out all together, so it wasn't too ghey on the way home.

Welcome to the world of the Protege.

we all hate emissions testing! Thats funny. I had to go to work so no big deal. Its realy hard to think of who is who. More of you showed then I thought.

Emissions testing? What's that? BMW = Exempt. Civic and Miata = Registered in Trumbull county, Protege... the only one that needs to (and does) pass each time.

I disagree. That seems like motivation for us to be at that show in full force. I would like to take one of "those guys" around one of our cars and show them all of the parts that have Ford Motor Co. stamped in them. I replaced the rear sway bar and springs yesterday and FoMoCo is all over underneath my car.

Hmm... full force... Pick a day and set a thread. Oh... and only the 3's and 6's are cursed to have FoMoCo stamps all over them. Heh.

Indeed. I did a presentation / speech on that in college. People at the end were like "Are you ******* kidding me???" It was rather funny. What's really funny to me is when cars like the Chevy Cruze turn out to be Daewoos, and the Colorado is an Isuzu...

Anyway. How's everyone today?

Welcome to the world of the Protege.

Eh....more like welcome to the world of cheap eBay HID's. lulz

We're off to Pittsburgh to meet some friends from Latrobe. Cruising through Ikea (place is enormous, shoot me now) and then grabbing food at QS&L.

Well, even with standard halogen lights, they still pop left and right.

Both my HIDs blew yesterday as well. Weird. I have no clue what's wrong with them.

People told me that I over paid for my kit in the Protege when I bought them... but here we are, 3.5 years later, and they're still working fine.

I like the curse of FoMoCo. Although I realize that those parts are most likely not made in the states. I still have used it as ammo of sorts. I love the look I get when I tell people that my rice burner is built with american parts, it's a bit of a lie but funny. Oh, I was thinking about HIDs till I see that everyones bulbs are taking a crap pre-maturely. Josh hasn't even had his installed for a month.

Mine was a fuse that melted somewhere along the way... I have had multiple minor issues with my DDM Tuning HIDs and Halos, though. Enough for me to not want to purchase them ever again, and I will not suggest them to others.

I've never had a problem knock on wood with my ddm's. I liked to do a retrofit in the future though

Protege Folks: My key fob is no longer locking my doors and now whenever I attempt to start the car the alarm goes nuts and won't let the car start. I getting pretty tired of unplugging the battery to reset the alarm every time I need to go somewhere. Any suggestions?

Turtle speed FTW! Before you know it your garage will be filling up with parts. I'm looking forward to the ZE swap in the 626 BEEG TIME!

^ might be blasphemous to some of you, but i could give a rats ass about f1... and could not care less if they build the track and race in texas, not like i could afford flying down and attending the race, and i cant watch it on tv (stupid comcast taking speed away) so my caring about a sport where only a few select teams seem to win and everyone else is stuck racing for 4th or 5th meh just dont care for it

I love F1 :D

I really hope the race works out in Austin next year. My aunt and uncle live in Austin so I'm pretty happy that they decided to put it in Austin too.
