got some sort of good news today!

they finally got someone in Montrose Service that knows what they are doing, and THEN some! they brought in Mark from Park Mazda ... i ran into him there today while i was picking up a couple of oil filters in the Parts Dept and he looks at me and says "You look familiar" lol and i said "so do you!" and i recognized he was from Park. He said they asked him to come up here to help fix the service department, and i said "they definately need help!" ... i was going to proceed to tell him how no one trusts them to bring their cars in there anymore, but the service tech lady that i don't like then walked in ... and she saw us talking and says to mark "you know them?, they come here all the time" ... and i told her that we (mark and team sumlin) go WAY BACK ... and thinking to myself, when was the last time we had a car serviced at Montrose? last year at least!! Marlon can toot Mark's horn better than i can with all the technical jargon, but i know he's a master tech, the highest level of mazda service tech there is and he's a nice, cool guy.

so now at least if you HAVE to bring your car to the dealership for service, if you ask for Mark, you can rest assured it'll get done RIGHT!!!

on another more random note, anyone on here good with cameras?

i have an original canon rebel digital camera and after i took the group shot of everyone on sunday, i took the card out of it for the FIRST TIME since i've had it (many moons) ... after i got back from walgreen's, i put the card back in, had a hard time at first, then finally got it in right (I know it can only go in one way) ... and now it's throwing an ERR 02 code and i can't take pics, can't download, can't even get to the MENU to format the card ... aauugghh!! do i just need to buy a new card? although it was working fine with that one up to this point ... and i don't want to lose the couple of pics that i have on it. i'd like to download the group shot so i have it saved on a computer for future use.

any help will be appreciated!!

Do y'all have a computer with a card reader? Try to see if you can get to it to download / format it there. If not? You probably need a new card.

yeah, just got back home. Trip was pretty good, went to Busch Gardens and Universal after 20 years...

got a tour of USF, had a bunch of great food, rode a lot of coasters and found a good beer place we can hit up on the next Daytona trip (hoping to make it out next year).

I have friday off work so hopefully by Saturday night the MSP will be running again. But with how I work and the little things that make everything harder than it needs to be that might be setting the goal to high.

Also found a set of wheels on craigslist but I promised Amber nothing car related besides getting it fixed until after the wedding.

I would start with opening then removing the hood
does it knock at idle? maybe let it run for a sec and try to determine where the sound is. Could be a bent or broken valve or maybe one the the valve springs? I'm just shooting out ideas

thats what i was thinking. start small corey. maybe you broke a spark plug or dropped a valve. just pull the valve cover first and see where you are. then the head. then the oil pan...

btw are you using my trailer?

Corey have you removed your VTCS? Is it possible that the screws finally backed out and you ended up with a flap inside the cylinder like a few people have already? Check your plugs. You will more than likely have a plug that's smashed. Coil packs, wires, injectors. There are a bunch of different things to try before doing a complete tear down. If you were closer, I would love to help you. I hope you can get it all sorted quickly.
