The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Dashhawks work fine, I had one on my MS3 with an EGT probe and CP-E has a really nice mount for it. However, it's been discontinued by MSD for a couple of years now so that keeps me from getting another one. Data logging is nice but depending on the mods, some of those readings will be off since the values are taken from the ECU so it might not be accurate.

There are other options out there, but a dashhawk is certainly the cheapest one.

Spicy's coming home this week........built motor, head redone........yes, the excitement is overwhelming

So I think today was hooters day @ BGSU. They were out in full force and all over today. On another note April told me she would rather me spend the money on making the MSP better rather than buying another car for a dd right now. I kinda forgot I would be riding the Honda almost every day when it gets a little nicer out. Guess I'll just have to wait until next fall semester for a dd and get a paint job hopefully when this spring semester is done.

Alright.....opinions. Sleazy salesman tactic, or actually telling the truth.

My neighbor is still up in the air, so I've decided to go for the dealer 6 wagon. I called the salesman tonight to ask if the wagon was still available, and if it was, to tell him I'd be down tomorrow to take one more look at it in better lighting, and if it was all good, we'd talk numbers because I was ready to buy. He wasn't even working...lol I called his cell phone number from his business card.

So, he says he'd have to call up there him self to make sure the wagon was still there. He called me back about 15 minutes later, and OF COURSE said "Another salesman has a buyer coming in from out of town tomorrow on it. If anything changes, I'll call and let you know". Like....that figures, right?

First thing that came to mind was, it's probably just a tactic to get me to buy ASAP. But, I'm not so sure, because I already TOLD him I was ready to buy, just that I'd be in after work tomorrow. Unless he was trying to get me to buy sooner than that or something? Or feel my desperation out so he can get more money out of me in the negotiations? They were only open till 9, and it was well after 8 by the time he called me back, so it's not like he was trying to trick me into RUSHING down there to put a deposit on the car? Or was he?

Ah well....if it's meant to be, it will be. If not, I'll just have to wait and see if my neighbor ends up selling his wagon, and hope the P5 doesn't leave me stranded! I'm picking it up tomorrow morning. Mechanic said it was flooded from running too rich? Suggested some platinum plugs and a PCV valve. I don't think he actually figured out WHY it acted that way though, just that he got it running decent again, so I don't even know if I trust that car too much now.

could have some truth but my gut says it's a tactic. They've been sitting on it for while.

My gut says the same thing, but again, why the tactic? It's not like I was still undecided and he's trying to get me to take the bait? I already took the bait in saying I was going to come back down.

I won't lie, I'll be disappointed to have the rug pulled out from underneath me like this. lol

Nate - Did you ever get any info on the 5sp 6 Wagon on Craigslist up this way, by Pablo I believe? It was reposted on Jan 12th, and I'm assuming he still has it.

I sent him an email for s**** and giggles. Not sure if I'd want an 05 w/130K, or I'm really not sure I want another 5sp, but I guess if it was a near perfect situation of it being original owner, all maintenance records from a Mazda dealer, and all highway miles, etc, I'd consider it.

I never go the OK to check it out

on another note, I checked and the DH won't work on the MSM so that's out for me, as well as the aeroforce and the g-tech. I'd have to set up another space ship or go for the other custom setup

no I never heard back, I sent him 2 emails

HA! Must be a real motivated seller then.

It's amazing just how rare the Sport wagons are! The entire country on Auto Trader only listed 15 or so! Less results on Cars.com and Vehix. Practically non existent on Craigslist. lol

yeah, they were really hard to find when I looked for them. There's still the one in Columbus that needs a new engine for 6k. They still haven't dropped the price.

Fool, you should have asked me. I could have told you in 5 seconds that the DH doesn't work on the MSM's. Gotta throw all of your MS3 / 3 knowledge out the window with this car. You're dealing with a rather old ECU in comparison. For the amount of monitoring that you're talking about (a lot of which not being as essential as some may imply) yes... you're going to have to start another disco club in the car. And you don't have that much real estate to work with.

I was kinda bored yesterday so I got carried away looking for stuff for the car, today reality kicked in again so I'm back to not being sure if I even want an AFR gauge. Hell, I was even looking into getting an E36 and modding it as a track car so I wouldn't have to mess with the MSM, thus ignoring the reason why I got it.

I just need to keep telling myself I don't have to mod the s*** out of this car, eventually it'll sink in.
