The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

You think 131 lettuce green is too bright to match a "takata green" look? I like it, but thought a little deeper green would be better...I dunno now...I've never seen takata green in person so it is hard for me to tell the shade...

I might just get 'grabber breen' engine enamel and use it....it is super bright green and should be heavy duty. Plus I can buy it at wally world rather than off a website. Shipping is 15 bucks!

Oh yeah! I'll just go with grabber green. Two wheels are sanded completely and ready for primer and paint. I plan on finishing sanding tonight, primering on Tuesday, and color on Thursday. I know they are just winter wheels, but I am trying to make them have as good a finish as factory. Plus maybe they will last two or three winters rather than get beat up after one

If I do the fun run on October 3rd, I will most likely have these on, because I don't want to risk spirited driving around others on summer tires down to the cords on the inner tread. I'd rather have meaty all-seasons...

The orange I used is engine enamel and it's pretty thick. Plus with the 2 cans of clear coat, you'll be good for 2-3 winters. I say just snag that "grabber green" and go to town. I'm looking forward to seeing them on the Fun Run! Oh, and you're coming, Chipmunk. No excuses.

Wow, I'm blown away by how much faster that navy blue NA with coilovers was than everything else. It could be a case of a better driver having better equipment, but if that's what let him go that much faster through the slalom, holy crap.

He's got a majorly built car and he's got a lot of driving under his belt. He's also a drifter and he executed two really nice drifts around that horseshoe at the end of the slalom.

Do you have to be signed up for NASA and SCCA and the other stuff? Cus then it'll probably be more than 30$. I'd do it if I just had to find a helmet and it was 30$.

let me well in advance (like a week or 2) of when the next one is so i can find a helmet and i'll join you.

Welcome new guy (or girl, you didn't really say)!

how many runs did you get in fiji mazda? i wasn't counting...

we aren't really a fan of autocross since it just seemed too expensive for just a few runs, but that was with the scca....you look like you got in a lot more runs

i also would think that i couldn't remember such a short course...with just cones to look at
i've only been on mid-ohio, so that's all that i'm used to...and that was only for some parade laps and on iracing...i'll have to try an autocross once with my car next year...just to see how terrible/slow i really am at driving haha

There's auto-x that's not SCCA? Cause in SCCA, my car is going to be in a horrible class. My wheels alone put me in FSP, I think... I'm planning on doing auto-x next spring, tho. Coilovers, under body braces & a bigger rear swaybar and hopefully I'll at least not embarrass myself... I'll still probably come in dead last every week, LOL.

CF stuff automatically puts you into SM...

NASA has something similar to autox. I haven't looked into it much though.
