The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

What was the reason for trading in the STI? I thought you just bought that car last year? Needed a better tow vehicle?

I got the STI in January of '13, so I had it for just under 19 months. The truck is going to take over as the main tow vehicle, so that was one of the main criteria when shopping, but I really just wanted something more practical on a daily basis. My wife was a huge fan of getting the truck so that helped. Haha.

SHES ALIVE!!! granted start up has always been a bit rough with this car and ill get that figured out in due time, im just happy cause thats the first time shes fired since easter!!!

Congrats man! Now I'm jelly and need to get mine running.

Are you able to drive it? Or is there still more to button up?

i drove it about a mile around my town last night. still need to do several other things before i take it for any longer drive... i think a mouse made a nest in the exhaust cause little embers/sparks were flying out of the exhuast last night and i found mouse poop and pieces of combos in the trunk as well haha
ill tear into the exhaust today and see if anything needs to be cleaned out. i need to get a couple more bolts as i must have lost the bolts for the front sway bar and im missing a bolt for one of the cross members underneath as well... after that i want to let it run in the driveway for a while so that i can burn/bake off all the grease/dirt thats gotten on the block, exhaust, and everthing else around the engine bay

Congrats and a job well done, MonkeyAss! What was the solution to it not turning over and firing up? Loose ground bolt somewhere? (that was my issue after my swap in the MS6. Jake caught it and it fired right up)

Congrats on the truck Will!

Congrats on getting the MSM back together Levi!

Weekend - Drank enough for Amber and myself on her birthday. Saturday was rough but the Jamey Johnson concert was pretty good. Sunday did house stuff and went to dinner with friends. Kennedy wasn't feeling great most of the weekend and was really bad Sunday night. I got no sleep and called off yesterday. She seems to be better now.

I think I'm all caught up.

thanks, the knock sensor wire was on the starter and nothing on the knock sensor, then the crank sensor needed tweaked as well... but hey, 3 missed/wrong connections aint bad given i didnt unhook any of the stuff and wasnt even at the house when it was unhooked. so im actually pretty proud that i got that far on the first try. everything else was buttoned up last night...
still wanna burp the coolant a little better today, wanna open the exhaust to see if something is in fact clogging it up and need a couple bolts, must have lost a sway bar bracket bolt and need a bolt for the missing one on one of the cross braces in under the car as well but atleast shes running and ill work the kinks out of her

you guys will laugh at this, Saturday we had all kinds of issues getting the motor mounts to seat properly and i finally was like guys, she has a personality and temperment...
i told Lindsey I was sorry that her sister Whitney was in bad shape and poured a little beer out for her to RIP, 5 mins later the motor dropped in place... the guys were all like "did that really just happen??" i laughed and was like i told you haha

I just found out we have about 5 audits starting today and they are all due Friday night, along with everything else for month end.

Good luck with that. I have a deadline for tomorrow afternoon that is near impossible considering I didn't get the information to even start it till yesterday. That's why I was in the office at 5am this morning trying to pull off the impossible.

Morning meeps, I am getting my tint fixed and added on to. Where do you guys go? I called a place and they want 125 just for the windshield and then 125 to fix my two rear doors.

What's happening folks?

Sorry Patrick, can't help you there. Haven't had any of my cars tinted before.

I like to pay out the ass for tint. Summit Audio is Hudson did my silver P5 and Fatty. I paid $285 for all the windows on the P5 and visor strip (which are still holding up great). And $310 for all the windows and visor strip on Fatty.

My philosophy on tint is I would rather spend the money and have it done right the first time and it will last the life of the car. Sure, you can get tint done for $50 from some guy's brothers, cousins, co-workers, nephew. But I would rather do it once right and not have to worry about it fading purple or peeling. Summit has done my dad's Mazda3 as well and they do all the Land Rover/Range Rovers from the dealership in Solon.

But again, they are expensive.

very lol. The guy I talked to does all the automart's in NE ohio and a few other dealerships but I was wondering if any of you guys had a known awesome option I might just go with him. I want my rear windows fixed too but that will be pricy

Yeah, I would peel them off yourself. I know Summit charges $60 per window to peel them.

What's wrong with your current tint?
