there are ways to get bigger guys to fit, my buddy shawn did the "foamectomy" to his OEM seat and now fits in his MSM with helmet and his about 6-3"
i know others that have aftermarket seats that are mounted lower to attain more headroom.

Actually no, I do not fit in his seats. It was foolish of me to ride along with him at mid-ohio.

im the other way around, if i were going to have a "fixed" hardtop on a miata id rather have the fastback than the OEM designed coupe

I'm going to have to look for another motor soon or a rebuild. I don't see the 230k mile motor lasting very long on 9psi. I can't believe it lasted a year on 7psi. I'm totally content with the power she has now. I would like to get her on a dyno just to see where she is at. Has to be over 200whp now.
