The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I see Staties almost every day going to/from work. As long as you aren't exceeding 10 over, they will not pull out to get you. I don't even turn off my cruise control anymore.

If you are weaving in out of traffic, that is when they are most likely to pull you over I just hold it it steady 7-10 over. If they got me, they got me..one for them!

I usually don't speed much on the highway. Usually just 5-7mph over. Curvy roads are another story :)

There is this fun little left-right entrance ramp to Route 8 North I take every morning and I try to clip the apexes just right. Yesterday morning a cop blipped his siren at me as I was doing it. haha. It's a highway entrance ramp and I'm only doing about 34mph so I'm not sure what I could get in trouble for, driving too awesome?

Don't get me wrong, if I get pulled over, I'm respectful and don't mouth off. I was speeding and at fault and I accept the speeding ticket. :)

I've heard as long as you keep it under 80 you're safe on the highway. That's in areas where its normally 65. It sounds like they increased the 'speed limit' to 70 so as to have less of a speed differential from the people going the speed limit or only 5 over, and the majority of traffic going 75-80.

Believe it or not Jen told me they allowed 17 over (82 mph) when it was 65. I seriously doubt that, I may be mistaken since she was throwing a lot of numbers at me. Now they plan to use the same ceiling. They feel anything above that is too close to 100 mph and I agree with them.

disclaimer: The previous statement does not mean that you should feel free to run 82 mph on the interstate. If you do and then get pulled over do not use my name and tell them I said it would be ok. Doing so might cost Jen her job, just sayin'.

I got pulled over going 91/65 and the cop was older and extremely nice, not angry, nothing. A few hours later (at 2am) I got pulled over for 80/65 by a younger cop who was pissed off I was going that fast. There was NO ONE around.

I think it just depends on the cop. I've never had any issues going 75 in a 65. But on the news they rode with a trooper and he pulled someone over for going 81 in a 70. Ehhhhh. Kinda stupid to raise the real speed limit and crack down for the same "speed over" amount IMO. Breaking the law is breaking the law I guess. Whatever. I can see 90 vs 80 but only 81? Meh.

He may not of pulled you over if you were only going 79. On my drive to VA in the MS3 I would set the cruise to 79 according to GPS. I really think the magic number they pull you over is 80.

I'm not sure how to view the Gripped location change. If they're a club and their weekly meeting spot got overrun by ricers, drug dealers and morons who blast music with subs in their plastidipped Speed3's who get ticketed, then I'll just stay at home and let them get their own club spot back again. It's like being invited to a party or just showing up to a party. I just hope Dat Flex didn't tarnish the Mazda crew's reputation last week.

Our reputation is solid, the OG's have worked hard to maintain it. I do not think that anyone who knows us, will ever lump us all together. I think we can address these situations and help them understand how we got to where we are, with the way we carry ourselves. We'll school the youngsters....

Don't lie, everyone knows you're the reason the location changed...being a major drug dealer and all

LOL

YUP! I sell crack cocaine. It's one of the perks of living in Akron.

I always keep my cruise between 5-7 over the speed limit. The only way I do faster is if somebody is screwing with me, then I punch it and take off to get away from them. I'm hardly ever in that big of a hurry I need to go that fast.

I replaced the front (totally shot) and drivers side (looked ok) mounts tonight. Not so tough. Bad news is I now have a SRI since the AEM bypass valve decided to break during the disassembly process. Not sure if I will get another one or just buy some sort of coupler. Another thing I noticed when taking things apart, I have no battery hold down. Not sure how I missed that, I guess a person just assumes vital pieces are there and don't give it a second thought. I took her for a test drive and the vibes are noticable for sure. Might not like the result after I install the other 2 mounts but they will go in no matter what. The shift linkage is making an odd noise too, maybe a heat shield is hitting it. I'll figure that out tomorrow night I hope. Oh ya, the bolts that used to hold the plastic undertray bull s*** on. You guessed it, of the 5 that were left holding them on 4 of them broke. So I was only able to put the drivers side half on. I'll try to figure that out tomorrow as well.

Happy 4th all; sitting at my desk bored out of my skull. Corporate is closed and customers are at home so not much for me to do. Have to cruise the interwebz to stay awake.

Larry, just use some intercooler piping. A lot cheaper than another CIA,

Working on the car and hoping to fix the turbo issue :)
