6 is much better looking. Nissan had to do something different as the current Maxima and Altima look the same. The C pillar is ugly.

The beltline looks higher than the Mazda 6, a styling "feature" I really don't like. It's the main reason I bought a CX-5 instead of a Mazda 3. You feel like you're sitting in a pit and the visibility sucks. The upcoming CX-3 seems to have the same issues.

And allegedly, carmakers think consumers really want this. From a recent article in Forbes:

"The reason automotive designers are lifting belt lines on cars of all kinds is because they think it looks better. Mazda designer Derek Jenkins explained it to me this way: When considering the proportions of a car, the smaller the upper third is in relation to the lower two-thirds, the sportier it looks. That’s why sports cars have such low roofs and small windows."

The Dodge Challenger is the worst, with the belt line.
It should be like 3" lower and then it would look awesome.

The rear quarter looks very Impala esq. with the higher body line starting in the rear door going to the back.

The front end might be all right but after you get past the front wheels the hard body line should fade away. And the wheels are not my style.

Ugh, I've always hated Nissan grilles; this one seriously does look like a botched Mazda6.

I think the beltline here is done well. It looks nice on the back, the Nissan rear light is way to busy from the sideview

Chris, I don't understand you. Do you own a Mirage as well? Why do you keep bring it up, since you have a CX5?

Honestly I have nothing but good memories about my maximas..1990, 1995, 1995, 1998..I drove those cars hard. Easy as pie maintenance, came packed with "luxury" features of the day and great ride when dropped. But then with the last 4D sports sedan in 2002-2003 the maximas went down the route of inflated, bloated, slow, and ....CVT. They got rid of the one reason I owned maximas, manual transmission. I've heard enough horror stories about a CVT that I wouldn't trust one for the long run. If it has a CVT, lease only. Bring back the 4D sports sedan, change up the damn VQ already to something more efficient, and get rid of the gross CVT!!!

If I had a nightmare about a Mazda 6 than that is what it would look like.

Not feeling the high belt-line trend either. Visibility out of these cars are garbage. I don't care how many cameras and sensors they keep adding, I would rather be able to see myself.

Over-styled mess, at least per pics.

6 and Fusion look way better.
