maybe its like the new miata, where it just doesnt look good in the pics

Yeah, I think that's what it is. I also thought it looked somewhat like a Saturn. But after seeing it yesterday, it's a mini TSX.

you guys are funny... even if it DID resemble an ion (which I don't believe it does) the fact of the matter is, it's NOT an ion!! when comparring quality inside and out, you really can't get much more extreme than these two cars. I personally like this car a lot. I think it offers the same level of quality you'd expect in an accord for far less. it's no driver's car like the 3... they're simply different types of cars. I think the SI will be impressive but won't be able to compete with the upcoming ms3. honda will leave that up to its rsx.

ok so now jettas look like corollas and the civic looks like an ion...wtf is going on!?!

this thread makes me throw up in my mouth.

i think the jetta looks more like a camry myself... it's a big, fat, bloated piece that will probably sell very well with its target market. (junior executive women)

If a ricer is someone who likes their family and loved ones driving a car with 40miles/gallon hwy, airbags all around, and a host of standard features for a very reasonable price, great reliability, and quality (IMHO) that is heads and shoulders above anyone other than toyota, yes, including mazda, then, yes...I am a ricer (and a lover of run on sentences). I'm in the process of buing one now (for the lady) and will probably end up in an accord or TSX in the future.

Ummmm, some of you guys need to really get passed the anti-honda foolishness.

I don't see Saturn ION anywhere on the thing, and where the srt4 comment came from????

I looks more like a Mini tsx which is a good thing. Although looking at it front on it's a bit odd but I might get used to it. They need to re-work the front bumper/grill a little bit which is what they'll probably do in the 2nd/3rd year ( honda is famous for doing that after the 1st year or two)

Bottom line, it's going to sell. And it'll sell better then the 3.

Performance-wise the Si about the same as the RSX Type-S. Actually the engine is nearly identical, but the Si engine has a balance shaft for smoother operation. Also the Si has an LSD. All the new Civics drive very smooth. Better than the Mazda3, but the 3 handles better than the Civic sedan. The Si will kill the 3 though. It handles like it's on rails. (FYI: I sell Hondas, so I got to drive a pre-production Si at a Civic Ride & Drive event, and I drove a Civic sedan back to back with a Mazda3.)
