This car is annoying, I feel your pain there Chris.....I'm thinking about returning my car to complete bone stock save for my FMIC and EMS.

ive done a little research and i think my only choices right now are to part my car out and sell everything or go standalone. Im looking at the AEM Wolfe 3d standalone. Its a little pricey but i might go for it. just saving up the funds.
 
It's pricey but go standalone. You've spent thousands of $ and now you are stuck w/out any EM. I'm sorry to hear about what happened to you at ICS. Let us know as you progress. Good luck to you.
 
you already spent so much money its a hard decsion, but youve already come this far....you could just go for it!! but on the other hand you have to know when to cut your losses....
 
yea i didnt pick a good tuner or at least a tuner who wanted to tune my car. However, I know there are alot of obstacles to get around with this ECU and it is extremely hard to get around them with a simple piggy back. I say save the piggy backs for the bolt on guys. If their is any way to take over full control of this ECU and make power, its gonna have to be a standalone.

the only reason why im thinking about parting it out and selling the car is because after i spend all this money on a standalone and more tuning, i still have to worry about axles and a transmission, which do not have any upgrades available on the market.

Chris, I'm really sorry for you.
If you could, can you please elaborate on what exactly the car is doing? The last I read, you could run it but only at some low boost level. Is this correct? Does the car run? Have you tried other tuners or talked to Jordan at cp-e?

The standback should be able to tune that beast no problem. You were fuel cutting from the cold I bet. I fuel cut at 6250rpms in 4th gear when its below 70F. We had some days here when it was negative 25F with windsheild and I fuel cutt like crazy. But then again I was running lean because of the cold ass air.
 
chriscecc914, i didnt want to go thru all 36 pages. How much boost were you running out of the GT30 b4 it blew and i guess as you stated you werent running any fuel management at all? Thanks in advance, planning to slap one onto the 3 by end of summer but i have a piggyback, fuel pump and a greddy e-01 EBC, hoping to to make 350-380whp on stock motor but also wanted to get insight if the motor will be able to handle it?

He didn't have a boost gauge when the car popped he made it about a block then bam! then I built him a new motor...

You can make that much power but you need to have a good tuner that knows these cars. We are making roughly 420 at the crank so in a 3 that is a lot of power. and we have a fairly safe tune on it, but we are using an EXEDE and Chris has a Standback. I blame his current issues on his tuner though not the hardware. we are over 10K on the current setup and going for more soon once the season comes back around.
 
well we tested my car for the boost leak we thought was causeing the stumbling and idle issues. Found out there is no boost leak. the car is running lean at idle on the wideband so now we have to test the CDFP to see if it is faulty. Anyone want my car for blue book value to save me the headaches and get a s*** load of brand new free parts? lol
 
whats blue book?

theoretically i can swap the engine/turbo into my 3, and take my 3 engine and turbo and put it int he 6 and then sell the 6 at blue book lol

If you are serious,how many miles do you have on the car?
