Has anyone peeped this movie out? I went and saw it at 09:00 in the AM right after work, opening day. I think it is probably the best movie I have went to see all year. The principles of "bushido" have always appealed to me. Bushido = "Way of the Warrior." It was the code that Samurai lived by kinda like the Knights of Medeival Times lived by a code of chivalry. The Samurai took it to a whole different level though.

Tom Cruise did great in the movie with all the preparing and research he did beforehand.

Yeah, I'm looking foward to seeing it. Haven't found it on bittorrent yet. I might just have to go see it in the theatre.

Looks like a great movie....I loved it on MTV when T. Cruise was on TRL and they dubbed over the scene with him and the kid on the porch. ..

Tom, whats TRL like?

Well, it's loud and fun.

I'd like to go and see J-Lo

Hmm, yes...

Something like that...I can't remember all of it, but it was hillarious!

I just got back from seeing the movie
I give it (2thumbs)
Reading one review, I have to agree another suitable name for the movie would be "Dances with Samurai." I really liked how they conveyed so much without speaking...just the look.

Great movie, plot. But its very hard to believe. I find that some Japanese will be offended, "white man comes over and saves country" But I liked it, very good.

This may sound like stupid question...but is the story based on any real history?

there werent any american military advisors in japan at that time. usually the military advisors were prussians.

bushido makes shivalry look like a richard simmons jambaroo

i think the movie was based partly on historical figures. i haven't seen the movie yet but i understand that the main japanese character was an actual person who fought to maintain the samurai way of life. and it's chivalry, not shivalry ;)

I just saw this movie...in JAPAN...and let me tell you even the Japanese in the theater were getting teary eyed :'(

Really great...powerful movie...a must see! (thumb)
