The "I Still Have a Stock Mazdaspeed3 (or very close to it)" Thread

Bought mine Friday - stock except cargo net. Lessons learned from my 2004 Mz3 (which, by the way is still one HELL of a car!) - it's too easy to throw things around in the back.

2008 Cosmic Blue Mica GT

"Mostly stock here". CAI is all I will ever do to the motor. The rest are mods to my driving skills.

No intention of modding it. Been there done that, no point for me doing it with a FWD.

totally agree, after the whole modding the MSP thing im done modding my street car. i will stick with mazdaspeed stuff, and even at that i might only get the intake. so STOCK FOR NOW

People on this forum are funny.

On one hand, a poster will have a "brag list" of mods that includes tint, HID Conversion and Subwoofers (cha-ching!), then in this post claim that they are stock?

So what actually qualifies as as stock and what constitutes a "mod".
I added a Belkin iPod adapter and a custom flat black painted EZPass transponder. Or are these not mods because they aren't performance oriented?

Okay then, how 'bout a >$100 swap out of all fluids to Redline brand?
Or does that not count because it's a consumable?

Hmmm...
Then there was my exhaust mod this weekend that I performed by backing into a curb that was higher than I thought :-p

I guess it's okay as long as we never get as bad as the Honda guys with their 100hp Type R sticker mods.
Nobody here has a Type R sticker, right?

I know what you mean by all of that. Hell, I should probably update this because I now have the MSCAI so I am not really "stock" anymore. But, like you were saying, what is "stock" anyways. The CAI is a Mazdaspeed part and the car is a mazdaspeed car so if I got the car without it and installed it, is it "stock" or not?

Good of you to bring that up.

Bone Stock, 98 miles on it.

No clue what mods I want to do yet. I was thinking about an MS CAI and SU MM first.

add me to the "stock" list.... can't really make any modifications to my car since i'm across the planet from it....

I'm kinda in the same boat. Bought the car right before moving across the country so that I could trade my old POS in on it. It's in transit being shipped here and I'm going insane waiting for it to get here.

Just picked up my new black MS3 sport 3-21-08. So still bone stock. I'm thinking the only mods i'll be doing are the Cobb intake, springs, sway bars and the access port when it's available.

CAI, dont plan to do much more as of right now.

If no tuning solution for us is presented by the end of summer, im selling the car.

mine is completely stock except for the shaved 3 next to the mazdaspeed on the hatch and I deleted the side moldings. I plan on getting a COBB intake as soon as possible however.

Since the MS3 is essentially a hot hatch, I would think the OP meant performance oriented mods - meaning any mods that enhance acceleration, braking, cornering, as well as high speed stability of the vehicle. That would rule out your iPod adapter. *^_^*

Hello, my name is Zeya, and I've been stock for five months. *clapping!* Yesterday... *sniff*... yesterday I had such an urge to put in a tricked-out downpipe. But I called up my mechanic and he calmed me down.

(That's me doing a parody on AA. Seriously though, I'm stock for now.)
