I've already decided. If they make a Mazdaspeed3, with > 225HP and AWD, I am trading in my MSP for sure.

If they make a Mazdaspeed6, with > 260HP and AWD, I will probably trade in my MSP.

Maybe...all I know is the wagon overseas has the AWD option...in which I thought was the L3 engine...which would make sense why the MS6 has an AWD on the L3 engine...same setup, just more umf.

jus called local mazda dealer

they said '05 models coming out in november '04
they also said its comin' wit nav features and all features of da mazda3 (mj)

well i'm puttin' my mazda6 purchase on hold, that car is like 2x lower than my accord and my accord has stock suspension, engine, etc

so technically speakin' gon wait til spring '05 after snow season to get da mazda6

time to start savin'

tax return 1000 bucks, gon see if i can get a return on the warranty i purchased 1000 bucks or so n put that in a COD or money market let it gain interest, n save up by that time, 1000-2000 bucks so thats bout 4G saved up, oooh n my '01 accord to trade in so thats like puttin' total wit money maby 10-12G deposit on car. car would b bout 30G so b financin' 20K or so

dealer also said '05 aint comin' wit AWD... maby next body change will???.....

My biggest hope is that they keep the weight down. I would hate to see a 3500+ lb of a car once AWD and turbo system is added. If the base stripped 6i weight 3100lbs, how much do you think this car will weigh?

Depends on what you want out of a car. The 3 is lighter and smaller, but the 6 has a more advanced suspension. Someone needs to put the 6 on a diet.

for real...You know of anyone running a gutted 6 race car? as big as it is, with all the extra weight dispersed everywhere, Im sure you could get that 3100lbs down to at least 2700.

I just want a car that doesn't weigh 3500lbs which makes 270 hp seem small.

after turbo lag you shouldn't tell....but during you might have the cool spoling noise while you wait. V6 is fast but the engine being so heavy and at the verry nose is one disadvantage. If you had a ligher engine pushing 200 something horse on a dyno you should be happy when you have traction. If they don't offer a summer tipe package just hope they don't put michelins on them or you will go thru them faster than a crackhead smokes crack regardless if they are on a AWD vehicle.

Considering that the mazdaspeed versions always have "alot" of flair items (like alumnium door sills, excessive stereo systems, crazy body kits)...I'd say 3300-3400 would be a good guess, with an additional 8-10% drivetrain loss due to the AWD.

So 3300 lbs, and around 200 WHP. (But to all four wheels)
(Especially since I believe mazda is now making side airbags standard, which adds over 100 lbs itself.)

Yep, that was shown over a year ago. We're just gonna have to wait for more spy photos, or until September when the car is shown at the Paris auto show.
