According to my sources they will build a sedan and a hatchback. Pricing will stay under $40k CDN, not sure about U.S. pricing.
your sources seem to rock! any info on colors?

OMFG

"Mazda is prepping its own entry for the Subie-Mitsu rally warsa 276-hp, 265-lb-ft Mazda 6 scheduled for a mid-2005 world debut. Spotted during hot-weather tests in the California desert, this sizzling prototype gets a twin-turbocharged and intercooled 2.3-liter four that is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and sends power via all-wheel drive to 18-inch tires."

if they come out with a mazdaspeed hatch on this side of the pond, I'd trade my one month old hatch in for sure.. no questions asked.

I imagine this will be around $30k USD. That would put it right in line with the sti/evo/r32 and so on. And chamich, the 2.5GT has a varibale steering assist on it. Just a matter of the tuning of the system. Seeing that this will be a performance version of the 6, it would surprise me if Mazda didn't tweak the steering ratio a bit versus stock. Come to think of it, the steering ratio will have to be changed, it's an awd car vs. fwd.

Man if I can do it I am so gettin one when it comes out just not in white lol

I've already decided. If they make a Mazdaspeed3, with > 225HP and AWD, I am trading in my MSP for sure.

If they make a Mazdaspeed6, with > 260HP and AWD, I will probably trade in my MSP.
Mazda 6 > mazda 3

Wouldn't running a twin turbo allow them to run lower pressure's on both, allowing the same amount of overall power increase as a larger single turbo, but lower pressures allowing faster spool up? Correct me if I am wrong on this, but that's my guess at the logic behind this. Using the 2.3L motor makes more sense for Mazda though since that is the global motor being shared by Ford and Volvo, makes it easier to sell the car around the world.

4cyl wont push 2 turbos very well no matter how small they are thats why a twin turbo setup doesnt make sense...

Now a biturbo system where you have one small turbo and one bigger turbo, but only one turbo is working at a time...now that could work.

yeah, they are really the same thing....but I just usually refer to sequential turbos as bi-turbo and the other as twin turbo...really bi and twin mean teh same.
