The harder i try...........

:
2003 Spicy Orange MSP & Mazda 6 S
Seems the harder I try.. to protect my MSP from door dings, and scratches from other careless drivers.. the more my poor car gets beat up.

I really go out of my way to park on a end spot.. or out of harms way.. only to come back and find some lady parked over the line with her door on my car.

But thats not all...

It all started with the guy kicking my car.. dent knee size front left fender, right on the body line

2 door dings on right side of car..

1 large door ding on driver side

1 missing passenger side mirror.. and scratches in its absence.. a rock kicked up from Truck on freeway

I cant claim any of theese because they are all seperate.. and even if I did, I have a $500 deductible.

It is so frustrating.. when you try to keep something nice.. and it gets ruined... when It isnt even your fault.
:'(

I need a job with Mazda

I know what you mean.. I had an accident involving a barricade and that left a scratch on the front bumper, a larger dent in the hood, two dents on the passenger side pillar and one of the roof of the car. Then I park far away from the mall, come out and there's sprite all over my car and the empty bottle lying on the ground.

I can't claim insurance or I'll get cancelled, so I have to save up cash to fix the things myself, yet without a job, that's hard to do.

*sigh*

My integra was like that.
I have restrict myslef alot.
Now I park at my tweeter and WALK to home depot.
I never go to the grocery store before 9 PM.
I don't go to school as highschool and college students are typicaly the worst people to ding up a car.
I never park ANYWHERE I can't see my car.
I also Never take my car to a mall during busy hours.
I have 0 dings and only 3 scratches and only one is visable without close inspection.

I totaly understand how frustration it is to have something you love smashed up by useless pricks and no consideration for you or your belongings and no matter how you try to protect it it get worse.

damn woman, you get all the bad luck.

i hate parking in berkeley when i visit my gf because its all unmarked street parking. all parallel parking. i check on my car every few hours. its nerve racking, especially when all the cars there have scratched bumpers from bad parallel parking. :(

I parked my car in an end spot all the way to the outside of the space at a music store. I was opening my cd's in my car and this guy that I knew from school pulled up next to me and WHAM!!! slams his door right into my car.
I got out, and he's driving like a '78 Subaru Justy, I recognize him and say that he should watch out for new cars, especially ones that have someone in it. He doesn't even look and just walks away saying "it didn't do anything". and goes into the deli next door. I looked at my rear fender, and there was a good dent and a chip that will definetly rust out.
I went in the deli and told him he was gonna have to pay for it, and he acted like he didn't even know me and said "it didn't look that bad to me, it's just a dent."
I turned around and walked out, got my sand wedge out of my trunk, and gave his rusty a dent that he might even care about.

You're right, you've got to restrict yourself if you want to keep your car in prime shape. What I find most annoying is when contruction type trucks pull in front of you with rocks/dirt spilling out of them...it's so frustrating as you hear the stuff hit the paint. Happened to me today...rather than passing I restricted myself, slammed the brakes and rode a good distance behind the thing.

We'll see how long I last before giving up ;) I'm at 0 scratches and dings so far..but im only 1 week in.

i dont have much of i problem, as i tend to stay away from 'dangerous' vehicles (ie; minivans, suv's, old rusty cars, etc). my problem is damn rock chips. i drive on the highway everyday and it sucks.

lower your comprehensive to $50... ?

collision costs a TON to lower the deduc, comprehensv not as much... depends... check it out

although the more claims, the more $$$ the insurance

I know what you mean guys...If any of you remember, a semi kicked up a rock at my car in March and cracked my window from the bottom right corner, all the way to the center of my windsheild. On the same stretch of road today, I get another semi kicking up rocks. I didn't realize it until I actually SAW one fly at my windsheild. So, naturally I downshift to fly past him, hoping he didn't crack the windsheild again....Anyways, I get home, and see this giant knick in my bumper. It peeled the paint back, leaving a flap just hanging there. I'll try to fix it tomorrow. I put a pic, but my camera wouldn't focus in that close...Trust me, it is worse in person.

destroyed rear and front bumper, foglight exploded, carbon fiber tailights destoyed, left and right rear fenders bashed in, various dings paint chip etc... i feel u, and none of it was my fault. It seems that people get joy out of ruining something that lookd good.

Someone did that all at once?? Please tell me they caught who did it!!

I doubt it. That sounds like our neighbor kid who's targeting my MSP, my dads old 90 sentra and my neighbors Civic. I'm still trying to think of a way to catch the mofo.... Anyone wanna donate a two way alarm for about a month and then I can send it back? :D I just need to catch this guy once and then all of the times the police have been called in the past will come up and he's screwed.

get their plates if you catch em ding ur door and call the cops and file a hit and run. it works trust me. the paint chipping u cant do anything bout due to the thin ass paint. if u dont have any scratches yet or just bought ur car invest in some 3m invisible paint film. itll protect ur front end from rock chips, bugs, etc. door dings are easily fixed with paintless dent repair unless it got paint chip or scratch. my advice to you to avoid door dings is to park at an angle in the parking space. or parallel park. or avoid cars on both sides. try to get a space where only one car is on ur side and park as far from it as u can. most of all be really good friends with a good body repair/paint shop if ur SOL.

Yeah when I had my protege it seemed to attract every type of door ding, stone chip, or just plain jerk that decided to key it.

I mean even my new truck...it was less than 3 weeks old and somebody hit the back bumper in a parking lot. But I just proceeded to rub the paint from their car off my bumper and just chuckled.

hahah spicy same happen to me if u saw my car at the meet the back bumper is FAWKED UP. I got rear ended by a ****** doctor that drove his new Jaguar into my bumper.

my front bumper is a stone magnet!! i had it repainted this spring because it was so screwed up form the road debris flying around all winter. i was gonna put on that stone gaurd film, but by time i got in touch with the company i already had several more small chips again!! i'm fortunate though, no door dings after two years!! of course i don't park or go to any supermarkets! joe

Everytime I get a new car I have to remind myself that people are going to screw it up. When I got this car I was always thinking about parking far away or hiding it... but in all honesty I can't.

Its just a car and I have work to do. I have to park it up close to the grocery store, wedge it between vans at work and drive it up my parents gravel driveway. I have to trust it on the street in the city and I have to not cry everytime a semi truck hauling a rock encrusted backhoe showers me with debris. I have to not freak out when it hails... ok I freak out when it hails and was prepared to run out once and cover the car with a blanket... but come on, its hail!

The car is going to get dinged, scratched, and in some cases gutted for its precious interior jewels. But its just a car and if I try to protect it from the world by parking a mile away from doors I have to make my children walk that distance. In the city where I work its impossible to protect it from everything. I'm expecting a bullet hole in it one of these days.

I feel you just have to take a zen approach to it and chill.

But I"m not going to do anything stupid like park to close to some old lady in a rusted chevy celebrity... I'm not suicidal or anything!

ya i kinda agree with you. i do have a choice of vehicles so... when i have to go into the city or park at the mall, near those old rusted beat up cars, i take the truck. i still don't like to see it messed up either, but it's older and it's not my P5! joe
