The engine whistles.....

the reason i ask, i installed my OBX header and now it whistles at high RPM under WOT

No i doesnt have a header, the engine is stock i guess... jejejeje i will going to check in the afternoon... thx for the info

could be a very fine crack or gap causing air release...think the blade of grass between your thumbs....My probe had a similar issue, found there was a very fine crack where the header met the cat

just keep an eye/ear on it...shouldnt be too much of an issue, it might also be a dirty air filter causing the whistle...just go snoopin around :) pop the hood, use the throttle control in the engine bay -which is on the backside of the engine (improper termonology i know) and try to figure out where the whistle is comin from

Defiantly sounds like a crack or leak somewhere.

I wouldn't drive too fast, or it may get bigger.
Rev the engine and have someone take a look and listen for where its coming from.

Oh it WILL get bigger if it is a crack, no matter what.

If it is a spun bearing - it will get much worse much quicker.

Mine was whistling when I accelerated. Hasn't done it in the past couple of days but I thought it was kind of weird. I have nothing installed though.

i check the engine and the noise came like in the back, in the muffler, any toughts?

++++ps sorry for the english :)

Is your muffler the original one on the car? If so, it's probably rotted from the inside out (happened to me). If you want to stay stock, get a QuietFlow muffler from Walker exhaust (lifetime guarantee). Otherwise, get yourself a nice catback :)
