The insurance company has yet to get back to me so i am kinda worried. I was doing some research and found that that whole piece by the hatch is one solid sheet of sheet metal. The new hatch alone is in the 1500 dollar range, unpainted to boot. I loved my P5, but I have a sneaky suspicion that it will be totaled because of the amount of labor invloved with such a little accident.

laser blue or dark blue, mine got side swiped by a cab in montreal. It was parked on the street and I was sound asleep in my home. My neighbour above me woke up when he heard the collision and saw the cabby roll back to check the damage and only to take off. never found out who did it. Only got a cab company name, no plate #.
Still haven't fixed it as its not too noticeable, but it starts from the rear bumper with minor scuffs/scratches to a small dent on the passenger door and the moldings are a lil scuffed up to.

$1500 for the hatch??? I just looked at my paperwork from my repair & the "liftgate shell" is listed @ $705.00..all told to re-do the hatch came to $1300, which included hatch, lock,handle, new emblems etc....where are they sourcing that part??

dang! well good thing for insurance! hope your deductible isn't too high...
They bluebook for sbout $7500 around here. Your insurance could go either way on that one. Good luck, I feel your pain.
