The CPE instake installed!

AHHHHH i'm so sorry guys... I keep forgetting.... been busyin figuring life out.... Bla bla bla... TODAT IS THE DAY....

Both inside.. and outside.... Keep in mind.. i'm running Recirc BOV now... so that sound will be somewhat different than before... sadly I didn't get any quality VTA clips before I got the intake in (which changed it)...

Anyway... CPE CAI clips Commin atcha! Soon as i finish waking up.. and get outta the house...

Thanks perfect, the sound will prob be the deciding factor in if i get this mod or not. Really want a more agressive sound, but not if it sounds like a vacume cleaner.

Sound / Video Clips... I'll start a thread for MS6 audio/video clips for mine.. and others mods... exhaust.. and such... place people can go if they wanna hear things on this car!

For now here are the 3 short vids... They aren't they best.. and its really hard to capture the intake sound... you can hear it in the videos... but its quite a bit different in real life.... Still sounds sweet...

These were taken with some mini digital camera... Not really made for video.. and DEF not made for sound...

This is a driveby.. from a complete stop (basically a launch).. however I skipped 2nd to get more spool and time on the video... as a real launch in the 6.. i'd be long gone out of camera range before you hear or see much =)

You can hear the intake a lot better in this one I suppose... just another quick clip.

This last video is from inside... with windows up.. and stereo off... Can't hear the intake... and barely hear the BOV... but... as you can see... not annoying while driving.. or racing one bit...

That's not that loud at all...... at least in the video, but I'm sure it's louder in person. MSP's are loud as well followed by our wonderful gobble gobble.

Sounds cool though, congrats on an awesome ride.

Ok cool so with this intake you still retain the stock battery, sweet.
I have also been looking at this kit, AutoExe Ram-Air Intake System (4cyl) kit

although pricey sure looks sweet and is probably really functional.
So does the CPE CAI come with the filter, and what about filter cleaner and recharge oils? I will probably get the CPE CAI, cause it smooths out the airflow, compared to the stock intake pipe, which would be retained by both these other kits.
The other kit AutoExe Sports Type Intake that Corksport has, is a K&N cone filter

so I am assuming that it is the same filter that comes in the AutoExe Ram-Air Intake System (4cyl) kit.

I tell you what sounds nice, even though this is off topic, is the Magnaflow exhaust for the Subaru STI, just check it out sometime on the magnaflow site

Clip 2 sounds great if you have surround sound. listen to clip 1 and Tell me that the STI doesn't have the perfect growl.

Perfect Extreme

So that chirping sound when you change gears, is that air being drawn in through the CPE CAI, or is that from your BOV?

Shortrams had the worst headsoak issues but since you guys have the tmic you may be able to get around it. So has anyone re routed their windshield nozzles to spray the tmic yet? Seen it done on other cars that didn't have the intermittent sprayer. just food for thought or the next how-to ;)

i posted over on mazda6club of my AEM Intake / HKS BOV if u want to take a look. The cp-e sounds a little more deep from what i can hear. From what i can hear i hear my turbo a bit more but who knows :) I like both of the companys.. very nice!

Looking at the site and seeing there is no electronics hooked to it, we'll have to see what aem does. If they do sri version, it will have better(extremely noticible over stock) throttle response till heatsoak eventualy pwns it. Remember dynos and realworld are 2 difrent animals. SRI benefits from the open hood dyno than cai. AEM was known to give the #s for a cold engine dyno for the sri.

did you install it yourself?? and if you did then could you tell me if you had to do anything crazy to get it to fit or does it slide in?? did you have to remove the bumper??
