The Countdown, The Day, and The Following 14 Days

as a jeweler, i have to ask -- what store did you buy it from (we have a lot of customers in OH), and what color/clarity/weight is that princess cut center?

It is almost flawless.... top in all categories but 2 (forget which ones), and it was still high for those 2 categories. My girl has the certificate for it, I will have to look it over again.

I paid too much for it at Jareds Galleria of Jewelry. I got the wedding band at Rogers & Holland because it was the only place that had the diamonds sitting a little higher to match up with the engagement ring.

Oh and weight is about .9 carat for the princess cut. The engagement band has diamonds on the top and inside the band on either side. The wedding band covers them up on one side unfortuneatly. So total it is very close to 2 carats with the numerous baugettes.

just an FYI -- get that stone appraised. because if they told you it was near flawless, and you paid less than 20k, something is wrong.

it apraised at $7.5K. It is not flawless, but to me it is.... its like top category, just not the top-most value. Man I wish I had the papers so I could tell you... but here is what I remember:
Clarity - the better of VVS 1 & 2 - I forget which is better but remember it was top of the VVS 'class'
Color - F - I KNOW its F.... I remember that one... and I think F is in the topmost class, but not the BEST in that class
Cut - I think it is a slightly deep cut, but close to Ideal

So no, it is not flawless.... sorry for putting it that way. But for me looking at it, it was. I looked at tons of diamonds and learned what to look for and could find inclusions, poor color, etc. When I looked at this stone I could not find anything, so I knew it was the one.

Congratulations, but This thread is useless without bachelor party stripper pics

lol no strippers. I hate strip clubs - just went downtown and hopped bars until they would not let us anymore. No pics.
