I wrote a letter to Mazda a week or two back about this issue:
I was just wondering if there was any potential of having different colors available for the mazdaspeed3 in the future. I am a current 2002 Mazda Protoge5 owner and plan on upgrading to a mazdaspeed3 in the next year to year and a half, but I am a little unimpressed with the current color selection. Black and red is expected, but the slate blue and light silver leave much to be desired. I know I'm just one person, but I know I speak for many of the other members of a large Mazda community forum (mazdas247.com <- Now 30,000 members strong!!) Other than that, I just want you guys to know that you're doing an excellent job at creating products for the up and coming generation...you're keeping us excited about driving. Keep up the great work!!

I thank you for taking the time to let us know how you feel about the colors offered on the Mazdaspeed3. I am unsure if there will be changes made or not for the future. I do know that the Mazdaspeed3 will be available for 2008MY and I can assume that there will be some color change at that time, no promises. I have documented a suggestion on your behalf in our corporate records which are reviewed regularly by product planning. I thank you for contacting us!
