The Build-Up

Actually, it's a Perrin exhaust. I can't say how much power it added...but from the driving experience, it's quite a bit of power. I dynoed at 179.8hp with just the intake, exhaust, and FMIC with hardpipes, withOUT a boost controller.

yeah i'm a jackass. i read perrin but wrote vibrant. cuz i want the vibrant exhaust. but thanks. just put up the pictures when you get a chance. thanks man.

No problem man. I'm still waking up. Woke up around 7am PST. And I think I STILL have the krusties in my eyes. Just kidding. :P I'll be getting the pics in about an hour or so.

Oh and the sound....it sounds freakin' amazing. Yes, it's loud, but it's got a good deep tone. The type of deep tone that just goes forever on a quiet and calm night.

that just sounds amazing. I'll have to look into both of the exhausts. I'm sure i can get a sound clip off the board somewhere about it. we'll see.

Yes Anthony, you've been missing out. ;)

But hey...how many other people on the forums can say they've been to Super Autobacs? *drool* I need to go sometime. They've just GOT to have something for the Protege, right?

Just for boostdprotegelx (and anyone else curious about the rear fenders)...

Here are a couple of pics of the cuts into the rear fender. As showtege mentioned, it's not totally cut to where it needs to be, but it's enough for now. All the exposed metal has been primered too, hence the awkward grayness.

Oh yes, I also have pics of the finished heat shield. I decided to go with the polished look.

Unfortunately there's a few defects that I couldn't polish out, and didn't want to risk attempting to sand them out quite yet. For about a total of 3 hours of work (an hour for the grinding, the rest was polish and goofing off a bit), I accomplished a nice look. Granted, it's been done before, but this is MINE. :D

And if I get bored of the polished look, I can always take some steel wool, rough it up a bit, and paint it....or something like that.

(and yes, I realize my pipes and stuff are pretty dirty...I'm working on cleaning everything up while the kit is at the paint shop, and before May 13th's show)

Hay chris thats my line..lol

When the kit comes back from paint give me a call mike so we can finish up.

Oh and start waxing the s*** out of what didnt get takin off (roof, doors, etc) to help it shine next to the new paint. You wont be able to wax the new paint for a few weeks. so wax all the little nooks and crannies that you cant get to with the new stuff on. Also we need to finish cleaning up those rear fenders befor they get coverd. So on and so on and so on.

Well, after 4 months (yes, FOUR months....I've had this kit in my possession for about 3 and a half months, and finally got it painted), my baby is phat. Wide. Has junk in the trunk. The kit is on!

I picked up the kit at around 8:30 am....here's the kit in the paint booth

And here is the kit installed, approximately 3 hours later!

I want to take this time to thank Jacob aka Showtege for talking me into the kit, helping me order it, helping install it, and for being there from the beginning of my tuning. I hope you all enjoy these pics as much as I enjoy my kit.

Let me know what you all think!
