The Black Destiny

I just traded in the Green Destiny (2001 Emerald Mica Protege) for the Black Destiny - a spankin' new CX7 GT AWD. Bose and moonroof, tow hitch for bikes and a bunch of those $50 plastic items that I don't need, but they came with the car. Dealer threw in Sirius install for free and we bonded over the video game Halo 3 so I got a great deal anyway.

I have driven it once. And I love it.

Yeah - the bumper strip, splash guards and so on.

I love this car. I am pretty much shifting manually too, which I never bothered doing in other "tiptronic" systems.

I like using the tiptronic, but I think it was better in my last car, because upshifts were foward, and downshifts rearward, on the cx-7 it took a little time to get use to it. by the way congrats on the new cx-7

My kids named my 1968 VW SquareBack KABUBIE. KABUBIW was a magic flying go-any-where camel. They named it that because we took it off road so much and in deep snow and never got stuck. No name for my CX 7 and the kids are grown and gone. The good old days, well in some ways. Ed

I named my CX-7 Electra, because she is electric blue and very sexy. Everybody in my family names their cars - it's fun!

at least on the CX-7 they're done in the proper layout (at least comparing to a rally car for example).

I use mine every day, but only on one stretch of road... a curvy hill I have to drive down every day on my way home... leaving it in 3rd keeps it so that I don't have to brake all the way down the hill.

Naming you car is kind of....weird. Just my opinion.

Not as unusual as you may think...ships, boats, yachts, and aircraft all bear names and all are referred to as "she" "lady", etc.

Heck, my Navigation system's name is Madge! (nana)

Vince.

The Protege it replaced was called The Green Destiny. After the mystical sword in Crouching Tiger. But more specifically, because my friend called his car that, and I stole the name to make him angry.
