The Awesome and Not So Awesome Cars I Get In At Work

so i tore down that red GTO....... Holy s*** did this guy have LEDs everywhere haha

Each fender wheel had LED strips, Front and Rear bumper Had too strips.... well what was left of the front, and the side had a strip. Then he had mini strips on the door sills, under the dash and in the back.

Finally every possible light bulb was a LED.

Forklift is going to be getting some new lighting haha

I'm assuming you get cash for all that scrap metal thats left over right? How much does one car typically get you?

it depends on how much s*** we throw in it haha, but roughly 150-200 a car

So had a pretty crazy day at work, first off our driver takes out a 5 foot section of the guard rail at the main entrance

he cuts its hydraulic lines and controls, so he is unable to lift and lower trailer

we tell all driver to load our cars on the bottom so we can get them.

Usually never listen, but this time i really wish he did

We usually can just hook chains to the roof and that will keep the car from rolling around and falling off, well this car was a convertible so pretty much had nothing to hook up too.

So we had to take 1" ratchet straps and wrap them aroudn the whole car to keep it from falling off the forks,

Here are the results lol

So what kind of return do you typically see on this? What do you typically pay for a wrecked car and what do you bring in for the parts? Just curious.

Pretty sweet job. You are buying all the decent cars which are worth while scrapping. The red RX-8 with the CF hood was nice. Leave it to Floridians to mod out their car and wreck it, that's where you come in. What kinda profit are you making car to car and how much does insurance sale them for? My Tribute was totaled 9 months after I bought it and insurance gave me over 17K for it.

*edit - I just realized a certain Scrotie McBoogerBalls asked the same question 6 minutes before me lol

i buy them all over the east side of the US

but insurance companies dont make there money back on cars when they sell them, when they go to auction they might get back half of what they paid you for it, but that gets made up by how you pay a month for coverage.

Yeah, I'm glad you don't have to dish out thousands of dollars for these things. They are passing the savings on to youuuuuuuuuu

We never know for sure, i know we did a mustang a few weeks ago. The guy that was driving the mustang survived but who ever he hit was killed. There was a performance shop name on the back window and i called to see if the guy had any motor work done and he remembered the car and told me the story.
