please do not ever use 'techno' as a general term to refer to dance or electronica music ever again.
techno, in itself, is a subgenre of the dance music genre. it is not the name of all dance music, it's a form of the music like trance and house. then you could break it down even further with sub-subgenres(?) and so forth, but techno is *not* an overall term.
every time someone calls dance "techno", i want to beat them with a turntable until they ******* die.
anyway, for finding good artists and tracks,
www.satelliterecords.com has not been beat so far, personally. just spend some time on there exploring things and you'll have a wishlist full of music to get.
everyone can start naming off artists/producers but dance is something that with as many styles as there are, needs to be something you yourself enjoy. just going and buying the newest ATB or Darude track just because someone told you to may be fine and you may love it. however, if you put some timein to it and go play random things to find tracks that you just 'blend' with, then you'll love electronica that much more.
