This is the first car I've owned with an LCD display. I have the technology package. Anyone know if it's normal for the LCD screen to be very dim when its cold out?

It stays dim for about 15 mins, then brightens up, after I've left the car overnight. It's been about 5-10 degrees F overnight.

i'm thinking this might be normal, but just checking. Also, this isn't dim because of the lights being on.

Mine does the same thing.

If you look at the Red display up above where the radio, time and climate things are displayed it is slow to react as well. If you change the volume quickly you can't really see the numbers as they change.

its normal for this because a lcd is a LIQUID crystal display. the liquid gets thicker as it gets colder, lowering itc conductivity and it reaction time

only advice I would say is dont do too much touching til the screen warms up or you will have alot of dead spots from cold fingerprints. I personally hate touch screens cause it decreses the life of the screen, but most stuff is going this direciton

After 9000 miles (7 months) mine touch screen quit working. It was in warmer months when it quit.

Replaced nav system (warranty)
