take a look at this please

Hi,

I got almost the exact one from ebay. Mine was only $60 shipped. I didn't have the $200+ for the INJEN. Since it was such a good deal, I couldn't pass it up.

No complaints here. Go to http://photos.yahoo.com/cmack98.geo and you can see pics of it installed on my car.

It does not go into that little hole in the fender that INJEN does...but I am still happy with it.

Later,

doesnt look bad to me, im going to keep that in mind. remember more expensive dosnt always mean better.

I have that same Intake...Also in yellow...But it's not a cold air intake...Got it form ebay...50dollars shipped!!

If the pipe is 3" diam., make sure that if yo ufeel any vibration in your pedals to readjust it... some of the 3" ones have been hitting the brake calipers on our cars... just a word of caution.

Other than that, i have one too.;)

Uhh...BRAKE CALIPERS? LOL. It hits something, but not your brake calipers. I think it's called the master brake cylinder or some crap like that.

ANYWAY, Dragon, why would that be a knockoff? It's a pipe with a filter at the end...!?

For the record, that looks exactly like the Ractive intake I have for my car. It's a pain to get adujusted perfectly, but dollar for dollar it's better than a $200 AEM. Go for it.

Looking at that intake and other pictures that were posted of the Ractive intake they look just alike. I just thought i would note that if that is just like the Ractive and is 3" diameter you could easily make that into a cold air intake for like $40.00 more. You could buy a 3in. stainless steel pipe for like $35.00 from jegs or j.c. whitney or any aftermarket performance shop. It wouldn,t be that hard. Just something to think about. You could have a cold air intake almost just like the injen for like $115.00.

Actually i plan to turn mine into a cold air intake, but first i want to purchase the new part that AEM has put out...just incase of floods for water getting in...anyone know the name of that part?

Just Found That Aem Bypass Valve on Ebay for like $45.00 usd shipped...if anyone wants...

chas

I believe that you just put it on...but i haven't recieved the item yet...

How much louder did the engine sound get under acceleration with the cone filter? My Maxmima with a V6 was pretty noticable and I am curious what your take is.
Anyone in Houston where I could listen to it?

The engine became considerably louder as i reached 5 & 6000 rpm's.

I personally think that the car sounds better with a cone air filter on.

Side Note
I also owned a 1993 Nissan Maxima V6
than purchased my protege5

If you guys have that Ractive intake, buy another 3" pipe with a 90-degree bend, some clamps and a silicone sleeve and put it together and you'll have a CAI. I felt a major difference over the entire powerband. try it!
