Symptoms of bad turbo????

well i am seeing a little bit of oil around the bottom of my turbo. i ussuall drive around on about 7psi and when i turn the MBC up to 10 the car runs and pulls good up to about 7-7.5 then after that i just jerks violently and takes off and make a loud ( louder than normal) screaching noise along with a grinding noise it sounds like ....????? like this ssssssssssssskrerkcssssssssskrerkssssssss (sound effect )constantly while under WOT at 10 psi What the hell any help would be great

.......there will be lots opinions to this...but regardless....take out the MBC....return it to stock...... and head to your dealership... the turbo is more or less gone....
 
the wierd thing is now when i run it set at 10psi it pulls harder than it ever has befor other than the terrible noisees why would it be running faster
 
Oakley it was probably never boosting right in the first place. Get it looked at.
 
That's b/c you are at 10 psi at 7 to 7.5 RPMs... have you experienced fuel cut?

I would do what BrianV said and just take the sucka in... warranty baby :D
 
if there is ANY oil on the turbo it is bad.. take it on.... pay the 30-40 bucks to put it back to stock.. or you will be sorry.
 
I had the same problem and it turned out to be the oil feed line on the top of the turbo. You don't have to take the MBC off I didn't and the dealership didn't say anything or document anything about it. I also have an awesome dealer so your choice. The MBC though will not cause the oil feed line to leak. The dealer will just replace it and you will be on your way in a day.
 
I think you're screwed buddy. If you take your car into the dealer complaing about turbo problems you don't think they're going to check the vaccuum lines that are attached to it? My dealer saw the boost guage spliced in there and voided my warranty. Good luck. You'd be better off just buiying your own T3/T4 and setting the boost at 5psi. you'll kill all of these stock turbo guys running 10psi. A new T3/T4 will run you about 400-600. Enjoy.
 
my dealerships is cool with the t line to the wastegate and bov being unfastened.

they even replaced the plastic t for free when i broke it one time.
which was cool

mnike9000, Your dealership sounds really nice or really dumb.


I do not recomend taking it to any dealer with any mods visible. Consider this an isolated case. The dealer will have a problem with a boost controller on your MSP. Especially if you are bringing it in for what sounds like a ****** turbo.

That's not even close to legal... the dealer doesn't have any say in your warranty being void or not. They can only refuse to work on it, at which point you can likely get them in some s*** with Mazda.

Dont get MAtty started on this. :D There is a whole thread regarding this issue, and in Mattys situation, its was a bit more involved.

Matty, BTW, I will be calling you this week bro, about judging.
