Sylfex blew up my radio?

Well I just installed a sylfex on my 02 P5 and after two days my whole radio doesn't work, no radio stations and my cd player doesn't work either. Any one ever have this problem or any fixes for my stereo or a place to buy a 02 Protege5 stereo?

I was stupid and didn't disconnect the battery when I tried installing my sylfex and now the CD player and the Sylfex doesn't work. It was definitely my own fault. I just figured if the car was off everything would be ok.

I figure a low-midrange ipod compatible Alpine or Pionner HU really isn't that expensive so I think I'm just going to go down that route.

i dont even know what a syflex is but I know better than to do anything electrical with the battery still active...

wow good to know. I'm just about to install an AuxMod Basic in my '01 protege. I'l make sure to be extra cautious, but I at least know to disconnect the battery

Sylfex is a company that makes AuxMod Basic/Advanced which adds a 3.5mm mini plug input that attaches to the stock radio's MD/Tape player addon.
