i know i have posted a lot of new threads lately. but here is another one.

which would be easier. take hood . fenders , front bumper hid headlights. rear hatch . all 4 doors. both front seats. windshield wiper reservoir. and wheels off one car and put all on my other car. then all the crappy stuff back on the donor car.?

OR just swap the engines? what would you guys think ?

2002 runs good. just has a of dents and ripped front bumper and has a really crappy tint job. so all the windows are crazy bubbled and looks really bad. and the wheels are stock wheels but someone spray painted them without sanding or anything so now they looked speckled lol has sedan headlights swap. ugly. has ripped front seats. and they smell funny

2003 car needs new rings. but has a great hood great everything. and all the windows have a NICE looking dark tint. great interior real nice car

Swapping engines would probably take less time in my opinion, but than again I've never swapped a engine, only body parts, but it can be time consuming lining up body lines and depending where you live, the bolts for the fenders break. Is this a current daily driver?

I would swap motors and give it a timing belt and any other PM that it may need (clutch, gaskets, EGR etc).

Or, re-ring the 03 motor and sell the rough car as a beater. I would lean towards this, since oil rings are such a common problem, may not be long until the 02 starts burning oil.

Swapping all those parts is tedious, the door VINs will no longer match, and you'll have to adjust all the panel seams.

Nah i have almost no rust on either car. Yeah i do not have an engine lift so i was trying to talk myself out of buying one. Lol i can do body lines NOT TO BAD. there is just A LOT of bolts compared to just pulling the engines haha

In my opinion I could swap body parts faster than an engine swap, then again I never pulled a engine. If you have the time pull the engine so you can rebuild the outside, belt, pumps, pulleys etc. But do what you want and feel comfortable doing.

You could always pull the motor and renew rings/bearings on the 2003 while still driving the 2002 then sell that as a beater.

Well. I jist gave in. And switched everything over. Started at 3 a.m this morning and finished at 2:30 p.m lol i decided to just switch everything because the garage i have with air conditioning has a really low roof and i wouldnt be able to yank the motor in there. And its a million degrees outside. So haha yeah. Only problem i ran in to was i couldnt get the drivers door to have even body lines. But hey it looks 10 times better then before
And i already just did a timimg belt water pump on the beater a couple months ago. So that was a deciding factor as well. The guy i got the nice bodied 2003 from said he just put a brand new head on it. Not rebuilt one. Said it was $1800 for the head. Head has maybe 400 miles on it. Might yank that off and sell it. Or keep it for my rebuild coming up. I am very indecisive. I wish all you fine gentlemen lived next door :) you could grab some left over parts
