Swaybar Nut Size

After trying about every different nut at the local hardware store I gave up. I know the bolts for the stock swaybar are 14mm but that is as far as I could get. I tried some fine and course threads and neither would make it more than a couple of turns. Has anybody else been able to pick these up at a local hardware store or am I going to have to bend over and take it at the dealership parts department.

i got mine at home depot, i dont remember the exact thread type but i know they sell them. one of mine got stripped and had to be grinded off!!

Thanks, I'll guess a trip is in store. Before I only tried my local Ace Hardware, you would think with an entire aisle being dedicated to nuts and bolts that I could find one. Atleast I have a spare endlink to carry with me in the store so I can test it until I find the right one.

got mine at pepboys. damn 12 something i cant really remember. i think you have to look in the metric section.

I remember trying both metric and standard. I'm going to try again tomorrow since I am changing out the springs and would like to run a rear swaybar again.

Well just got everything finished up that I needed to do. I forgot just how stiff the rear swaybar makes the car. I have been driving around without it for nearly 6 months now (don't ask). Had to leave the coilovers on the rear until I can get one more part around the top perch.

Fortanately the grinding noise has stopped in the rear left wheel, I believe it had to do with the strut having to much freedom to move. The clunking has quit as well with the new endlinks. Just wanted to say how pleased I am now that the car doesn't make all sorts of obscene noises that get me nasty looks in the parking garage these days.
