Swapping out my MSP ecu for a N/A Protege ecu?

While looking into fuel/engine managment I found on SpeedCicuit a N/A Protege ECU. I clicked on it puzzled as to why it would be under the mazdaspeed section, but in the description it actually says it benifitial to use it when using a piggy back system, would that be like a Unichip or an SSAFC? If so I am running a Unichip, so should i swap my ecu? will i actually see benifit? Heres SpeedCircuits descrition:

This is a pre-owned ECU from a manual transmission 3rd generation 2.0L non-MSP Mazda Protege. These are typically used when running a piggyback computer on a Mazdaspeed Protege. This ECU is plug and play, and will not throw any check engine lights when installed to your Mazdaspeed Protege. The advantage of running this ECU on an MSP with a piggyback spark and fuel controller is the fact that it has a much more linear base map which has a leaner air:fuel ratio and a more predictable timing map. This allows you to add fuel in a straightforward manner with an additional injector setup, and allows you to make more straightforward timing modifications with the piggyback computer

if you are running the Unichip, stick with the stock ECU. There is absolutely no need to switch at all

The reason dino has that on his site is for use with the mpi tuner. When you run the mpi with secondary injectors to add fuel you can benefit from the better timing curve the n/a ecu has. Since you are adding fuel with the secondary injectors you don't have to worry about not having the extra fuel the msp ecu adds.

Ok well here the other thing. my car was hitting a fuel cut the moment it hit boost, it felt like hitting a wall it would happen just as i hit boost round 3000rpm then stop after i past 4000rpm. Out of desperation, just switched out my ecu with one from my n/a protege it the issue dissapeared completily. however my power from 4000rpm up feels lessend. any ideas?

You CAN NOT PUT AN N/A ECU into a MSP.

It does not have fuel maps for the turbo. You will destroy the engine.

So why are we discussing this if you already have the solution...

Get a Cut Defender and drive.

well mostly because what ive read about fuel cut on this forum with this car is that, to fix it people either get the ssfc or the unichip. but i was having the problem with the unichip installed, and the problem only just went away after putting my N/A ecu in.

so bascally im just wondering why. and if your right and this is gonna **** up my engine. just want it to work, and work right, and with this n/a ecu its th closest it been to doing that.

with the unichip being your piggy back system right now, you should find out what MAP is on it. The n/a ecu might have eradicated the problem at hand, but could be causing more long term damage, or worse, with a MAP not designed to run with it. I would take it somewhere and see if they can tune it to work with the n/a, or just get a cut defender and call it a day?
