Mad Ryan - tuning for street cars is different then race cars. We understand this priciple, which is the reason why our race specific parts are specified this way. Compromises will ofcoursed need to be made between comfort and absolute performance. It's the balance of this as well as being able to design around given parameters of OE parts to which we came up with the design for our Sport Spec springs.

Hey ION i just found out that Tein Springs have a spring rate of 175R/145R...
could u tell me the rates of the ion springs..the higher the rate the stiffer the spring ...right?

The sport specs are: (Front-linear) 162lbs/in, (Rear-progressive) 95 ~1" & 145lb/in @ 2".
Yes the higher the rate, the stiffer the spring. The stiffer the spring, the more "bouce" you'll get (this means you're oversprung/under dampened).

Chicken SOup - do you know @ what compression the TIENs were rated @? The only way to absolutely compare spring to spring is to know exactly the spring rates @ the individual compression levels.
We've had guys switch over from H&R's as well as Eibachs to our sport specs to gain clearance and get a better ride on the street.

Hey ION while I appreciate your constant input and information...
I wish i could talk to people who are actually using the ION sport spec springs. I am interested but its hard when many people who have Eibach and Tein are happy, yet ur springs do sound like a quality product.

If you guys are going for the best ride you can with the stock dampers then using progressive springs, or whatever is cool. I wasn't trying to bust you're balls or anything. I was under the impression that you were talking about using progressive springs with a race quality damper. I thought WTF?!? Course, I'm used to the suspension stuff that came stock with my last bike being better than the stuff that is available aftermarket for the Protege. I think I'll call Max over at Traxxion, or Dave up at GP suspension in Portland OR and see if they can make a truly cool damper for our cars.

The Racing Beat springs are an excellent option as well, particularly with the Tockico HPs.
That is basically the same set up for the MP3 and the MSP.
As far as the others, I've heard Eibachs are softer then the RB springs.
Just to thorw some more info at you, as if the decision wasn't a pain before.

Chicken SOup - is there any specific pics you'd like to see? The reason why the Red P5 looks like it's not lowered is b/c the rubber used for that on those wheels is slightly of less diameter then the stock 195/50/16's
