Suspension problem

I just put a new stabilizer control link on my car ,the old one was broken in two for a few yrs I would say, now that I drive it I'm hearing a noise like a clunking sound ,I noticed that the rubber on the stabilizer for the other side is cracked but the bar is still intact,do you think that this would be the problem of the clunking sound .I have to travel in few days Thursday to be exact I dont have much time to mess with it thanks.I notice the clunk when i'm slowing down and turning I believe .When car is driving straight I don't notice any noises.

Rubber tear shouldn't be causing the noise. Most likely one of the nuts to endlink isn't tightened to spec. They should be tightened to 32-44 lbs. of torque.

Put a pinch bar between the control link and the sway bar to see if there is movement in the little ball joint. A torn boot could mean the joint is contaminated and worn.

+1 torn boot wouldn't cause the noise but the torn boot would allow contamination in and lubrication out allowing wear that would cause a clunk.

Thanks guys for help, I took the other stabilizer off and now no clunk so I'm on my way to get a new one ,hope thats all there is to this problem .Thanks again, Gday

I installed the new stabilizer link and clunking sound returned(mad) so I removed tires and when I move the tire up and down vertically the drive shaft has play in it ,feels loose is that normal (passenger side) and when I did it to the driver side no play ,

That doesn't sound right. Where is the play?? Is it in the hub?? You could have a bad bearing as well.
Your driveshaft didn't pop out of the transmission did it??

its the axle that goes into trans ,pcb I will be on vacation be back 24th,so everything is on hold ,ended up renting(mad)I have 3 cars and cant use any of them to travel.

Well holiday is over and was able to see what the problem was apparently I didn't tighten the nuts enough (I'm the nut)(toilet)That was an expensive mistake.I was sure they were tight ,it got progressively worse so I suspect it didn't totally manifest itself at first, the whole front end felt like it was going to fall off at one point.Oh well the 2.5 altima was nice on the hiway and good gas mileage

Sounds like... Wheel/Hub Bearing or Ball Joint....I guess it could also be Strut Mount Failure but I dunno...Its hard to do Diagnostics over the net...

woops, I just read last post....sorry, disregard.
Glad you figured it out man. Happy Motoring Sir!
