This is actually NOT for my car

I rather, need help with my GF's 2005 Mazda 6s 5-door

shes been bit by the mod bug (I think I gave it to her) and she's wants to be getting some springs to lower her car.

Well I've been looking around and I've noticed

*Eibach
-Pro-kit (mild drop)
-Sportline (2 inch drop in front 1.5 in rear)

*TEIN
-H-Tech (mild drop like the Eibach Pro-kit)
-S-Tech (more severe 2 inch drop like the sportline)

and she found a brand of springs called

*DROPZONE

I checked the other mazda6 forum and found some info about DropZone... some guy had them on his previous car (ecplise gst) and liked them

My question to you is what do any of you guys have and what would you recommend?

She's going to be selling her 17" aftermarkets to a friend and wants to get some 18 inchs on there

Some wheels she's been looking at are 18x8 with a +43mm offset... looks like she can squeeze it and I'm getting her fenders rolled this weekend.

Should I go with TEIN or should I go with Eibach?

If she gets the S-Tech or the Sportline (granted they would be for the v6 5-door mazda6) would they settle at 2 inchs front and 1.5 rear like they claim? Or would her car actually settle even more PAST that point?

I was thinking about S-TECH because onthe other forum I found a thread were everyone was talking about springs, and a member stated he had the S-TECH on his mazda6 for 17k miles now on stock struts and his ride quality hasn't changed... so that makes me feel assured for her until she gets the money for some after market struts (like koni yellows).

So what are you guys running or what would you recommend? Anyone ever heard of DropZone? their springs are only $99 from a site I found, and they will give her the 2 inch drop like the S-TECH and Eibach Sportline.

In the world of Honda's, where I came from, dropzone was junk. Ultimately it's going to depend on your strut that you end up with. Koni Yellow was where it was at for Honda's, and from what I can tell virtually every other car. Ultimately you're trying to save less than $200 to go with a knockoff spring, so I'd suck it up and get the reputable brand.

I ran Eibach Sportlines on my old civics, and loved them, it dropped it tremendously though. I'm thinkin about going to the Prokit this time as I don't want to drop it really low, just close up some of the wheel gap. I don't want speed bump, garage lifts, driveway issues all that came with being dumped.

Actually I don't really want to go with knockoff spring, not on her car, with the way I know she drives (rofl)

I was just trying to get some ideas on anyone who had a mazda6 and had either of the eibachs or some of the TEINs on their car.

Thanks for letting me know man, I didn't know anything about DropZone, never even heard of them either, so I appreciate your advice. :)

18x8 with +43 offset might rub even with a fender roll. I know another guy with a 6 hatch with 18x7.5 +45 offset running 225/40R18s that still rubbed with a fender roll, but I think he just didn't roll them enough. Still, I would keep the offset above +45 just to be safe.

Yeah? Thanks.... I'm gonna use a fender roller and a heat gun and pretty much roll her fenders (and mine as well since I only wanna rent it once) as flat as I can get them....

Thanks for that tip... So I have another question for you, if she gets the TEIN S-techs, or the Eibach sportline, she's gauranteed to rub even with a +45 or higher offset?

What did you end up installing? I have a Mazda 6s and have been looking into getting some springs too... My car only has about 30k miles on it, and i am going to be bringing over to Germany with my in June and want to get my mods done while i have a shop to work on it at.

She has TEIN S tech springs.... if you do that drop I recommend NOT using the stock struts, it dropped her car pretty low, I swapped her in some mazdaspeed6 struts to keep it tight for her. But those will probably wear down after a year or 2.

The type of spring depends on the type of drop you want. EXAMPLE: I have megan racing springs on my mazdaspeed6 with stock struts, and it drops it pretty low, there's like maybe 1/2 inch gap between fender and tires... some people like this, some don't. It's all about what YOU find visually appealing on your car.

Take pictures! I'm a DIY kinda guy and have been curious how to do this properly.

I'll take pictures when I do mine? this was last year man, lol So it's already been done.

basically I'm going to use a fender roller.... rent one. Most people use baseball bats, but I want mine done "perfect" heh.

But I'm going to roll my rear fenders so when I get some wheels and upgrade over the factory OEMs, I'm going to need to roll because I have 235s and the tires would rub for sure, without a roll.

No problem.... I can do that.... I just have to get around to actually doing them : \
