Supa Guard (paint protection)

My Mazda 6 is coming up for its 2nd service (2 years old). My Mazda dealer offered me something called Supa Guard (or something like that) to protect the paintwork. Supa Guard isn't cheap and some friends have told me there's a better product called Zymol which is both better and cheaper. Any views on this anyone?

Major cash cow for the dealership. It's basically a wax job with some sort of cleaner wax with a Mazda label on the bottle. Buy a good quality wax, applicators and microfiber cloths and do this yourself.

Hmmm, that's interesting. According to a letter I got from Mazda, the "Supa Guard" finish means that the vehicle won't need to be re-waxed for at least 3 years. I spoke to a guy today who does mobile valeting & "detailing" (don't know what that's called outside the UK) and he seemed to confirm that if done properly on a clean (and reasonably new) car, Supa Guard should last for 3 years. He can offer Supa Guard himself. But he reckoned that Zymol (although it doesn't last as long) gives a much better finish for less than half the price.

Don't know what to believe now.... (dunno) Is this all just a con trick..?

I've only heard of one product that would last 3 years, and I still skepitcal about it standing a chance with the frequency of washing my car sees. I don't have this on my car, but a former boss of mine had it done to her car years ago and she really liked it.
