Has anyone installed one? I know one of you guys got one with it installed already and leather seats, but I wanted to find out what kind of cost would be involved putting one in aftermarket, or through the dealer (even though my salesman said they "weren't allowed to put them on, because it would ruin the rigidity..."...I miss my 240's sunroof on nice days... :(

One word....
DONT't

Aftermarket sunroofs are crap. Especially if you live in a hot climate. The heat, or cold for that matter eventually kills the seals<spelling? I don't mean the animal>.

First, it'll start to rattle, squeak, and then the leaking begins. I've yet to see an aftermarket sunroof that actually works.

HEll, I miss my sunroof from my old Honda as well.....but not nearly as much as I thought I would. But I would never let someone cut a hole in my mp3. NEVER

ok my dealer said 1,000 dollars to put one in through them but i dont know if its aftermarket or not but they do it under warrenty

On the contrary, my sister bought a honda civic and the dealer had taken it to have an aftermarket sunroof put in it. She now has over 100,000 on it and has surivied the 100 degree summers and 40 below winters here. The only problem she had was the motor got messed up but it was put in by a very professional shop and the replaced it for free.
If you are going to do it, go to a good place to get it done.

BTW, didn't someone have a sunroof in their MP3??? That one has to be an aftermarket job too, even if the dealer did it, its the same type of install.

aphat01mp3, Where exactly is that dealer?
I think i could cough up 1k for a sunroof installed and under warranty through the dealer...

hey, if anyone gives a toot...I got a quote from a local Mazda dealer who said, "The power tilt and slide moonroof,
installed with a lifetime wty, is 1095."
Lifetime warranty is nice...could just have to happen...I'll keep you updated... :) :)
