Sunroof on a MSP

I usually have the windows up and AC crankin and sunroofs are just another thing to squeak and leak and compromise rigidity for me

Looks nice. . .I had one put in my MP3 before I picked it up. I think I paid $900 for it. . .not cheap but I love it.

I figured I might be the only MP3 with one (not like it matters). Maybe I'm at least the only MP3T with one. (laugh)

I have a Webasto unit. Have had zero problems with it, it is awesome. When you open it, a little deflector comes up and there is virtual no wind noise. I've got an forward and backward button like stock, and then two programmable buttons and a close. So, I can program however I want it to open in the two buttons and regardless of where, when I hit the close button it closes. Better yet, the thing closes when the car shuts off. Don't even have to worry about it. Just turn of the car and it closes 5 seconds later. If you want it to stay open just touch any key after you turn the car off.

This is one of the highly recommended mods I've done. . .but it wasn't cheap.

I paid $1095 for my sunroof installed in Austin. The dealership sent it out to some other shop to be done. They apparently send lots of their cars to this place. Lifetime warranty on parts; I think 1 year on labor. Took only 1 day to install - very professional job.

I called the place (Classic Soft Touch or something like that) and they said that if I were to bring my car in from off the street it would cost $1400.

I've been very happy with my sunroof. Not one leak in the past month.

Dammit I just talked myself outa getting one and putting the money towards performance instead, but now seeing this makes want to get one again. Looks good man.

Did you get any estimates done in the Hamilton/Toronto area ?If so where and how much ?
I want one bad. This is the first car i've had that doesn't have one.

When I bought the car in April, I asked if the dealership(Achilles Mazda, Acton) would install a sunroof for me. I was told it would be $1100 and they send it out to be done by a company they deal with. He said they have done this for many people, they do a great job and it's guaranteed for life.
