Suggestions for rims for the 2003.5's?

I'm still not sure if I like those wheels on yellow/titanium ones. I don't like dark rims. This is a big big problem. My car will be leased, so unless the dealer helps me out here, I may not get the Speed now and go onto other things....and Mazda doesn't have anything else I want. I refuse to buy a new car, same as the 2003 but cost more, put my own fogs in it ( which should be there anyways) and have to get new rims as well. I'll just buy a different car for that kinda money.

So, anyone got any suggestions for other wheels? I'm sticking to the same size.

Let me repeat that for those of you that can't read and suggest getting 18's :)

I'm sticking to the same size!

I don't want black, gunmetal, white, or any other odd color. Just silver type color. I love the MP3 rims, but the finish is hard to take care of. But that's the look I like. If I can swing getting the dealer to replace them with MP3 rims....I'd be happy.

I don't want a wheel with 5000 spokes inside of it, because I don't want to have to spend 30 mins each wheel when cleaning them.

Car will be the 2003.5 Titanium

on another note: Mazda is pissing me off to no end. First, they refuse to come out with sensible colors for the car. Then, they screw up the wheels.

Yah,

Find out who makes the rims on the Mazdaspeed RX-8 (The silver one) Oh man they are awesome. Does anyone know who makes these rims.

I know they are gunmetal but damn they look awesome on a silver car. They are 18's to boot.

I like the wheels on the mp3 better than the 2003 msp that I have.

I would go on ebay and get a set of mp3 wheels....they come up once in a while...personally I did not like the 2003.5 ( wheels, colours and trim kit ) so I stuck with the 2003

Newf, you have yourself a bit of a dileamma. If you were buying the car the solution would be a piece of cake (just build new wheels into financing and sell off stock harts), but since you are leasing your options become more limited. I imagine you could pick up a cheap set of rims and just store the stockers until it was time to return the lease. In "Super Street's" April issue they have a wheel buyers guide that lists sizes and 170 wheels available. They even have listed with the wheels the available sizes, MSRP's, finishes available, bolt patterns, and some even have buying sources or websites. That might be a great place for you to start and see a good majority of what's out there.

My April copy also came with CD rom also that allows you to put wheels on several different cars (no MSP) but gives you a great way to play around with ideas.

I'll trade my Orange MSP silver rims for yours! The dealer won't even know the difference or care since they would be the same rims.

I'm just keeping my options open, I don't know if I hate the 2003.5 rims that much to not get the car yet, although, I've said it before, I do not like dark rims. All this could have been avoided if Mazda would have released some f'n pictures of the cars, or at least put the correct damn rims on the show cars they used.

newf, i alway liked Mp3 rims over MSP wheels. In pictures that is. In person, they give off a different effect. The MS wheels in person are simply AWESOME!!
After taking pictures of my MS wheels, i don't think they do justice. Maybe you need to see the darker finish wheels in person before you decide to go aftermarket. You might end up liking them!

I've seen the Speed wheels in person, almost daily lately. And they are nice. But the MP3 wheels are still a better design imho. The msp wheels are the same 5 star design that's on more cars these days as stock wheels, it just doesn't stand out as much to me.

I am wondering how the finish of the speed wheels will hold up to in comparison to the mp3's. The mp3's had a problem with pitting, and chiping easily. Make sure you wax your wheels with a real carnuba wax so they are protected some guys. Also makes it easier to clean them with the hose. don't use some cheap wax though, it'll eat through the wheels.

oh, forgot, I'm hoping they do look better in person. I find even in the wrong picture that the 2003 wheels can look pale or dark as well, and in person they are most certainly not.

Hey Newf,

I like the RH on my Speed, the MP3's are nice too. If you wanna swap, i'd be happy to do it! Of coures, you'll probably only get yours in a couple of months.

I'm leasing too, but remember, you can always buy the car at any point during the lease. It's only if you return the car you'll be screwed.

MS MSP #143.
