truly do we need the TT??? our cars are liquid cooled arent they?? they dont need as much maintance as the others that are not... just let car run 30-1 min after it will live life of car..
(w/ boost , a/f), exhaust!
Well if you boost allot..or boost straight to the door...you will need it..but it's more for easiblity...

Thanks for reading the whole thread. (bowdown) I wasn't sure the SCCA would have different classes for stock or tuned vehicles. (wiggle) I'll get that book. I hope they consider the MSP a "stock" vehicle. Oh, by the way there is a track about an hour from my house. I'm not sure on the spelling but I think it is Hallet Raceway. I know they host races for many car clubs, and you can go down on just about any given day and pay $100 for all day use of the track! (wow) Thanks again for the info! (bowdown)
so what kind of racing are you looking at? i can tell you that the mazdaspeed protege will be a very expensive car to campaign in road racing. I know that in auto cross you will certainly have fun for far less money than in roadracing but i would say upgrade your brake pads and go to a track school day not an open track day and listen to your instructor and let him drive your car and show you what it is capable of, i am sure there aren't many people who are taking full advantage of the car in its stock form. it is really a very capable car. that said i am going out to the garage to start bolting stuff onto my speed. I like spinning wrenches far to much to even take my own advice.

Hey discreet, do you have a tornado in your intake? does anyone know if it really helps? I was thinking about getting one.

1st 5 mods should be the
#1 Spinnas from Advance Auto
#2 Cool Multi Color LED muffler tip
#3 104+ Octane Booster for that extra umph!
#4 Xenon Christmas lights on headliner
#5 Stickers... lots of stickers :D

I'm gonna list mine differently, by category...

1. Protection/Monitoring-TT & gauges (boost, oil temp, oil pressure)
2. Airflow/Cooling-FMIC & turbo-back exhaust
3. Throttle Response-SRI & Forge BOV
4. Drivetrain-AWR motor mounts & Kartboy shifter bushings
5. Boost-colder plugs & EBC

If you want to drag race a lot, I'd also add springs to this list to further eliminate wheel hop & because the rear squats when you launch, even with the Racing Beat springs (this in turn decreases grip to the front wheels). Also, try searching for the spark plugs, because there are now more options than just the NGK BKR7Es.
