Such slammable doors!

Hey guys! I noticed that the doors of our P5s are extremely light. People have actually apologized for slamming my doors extra hard because they didn't expect them to be so light. I'm used to heavy doors, as my parents have an Acura TL and an RX-8 and a Maxima and a BMW before that. Even my sister's Malibu Maxx doors are heavier. I don't really mind so much. The less weight the better for my car, but is there a good way to make the doors less slammable, for instance, by adding more resistance or putting bumpers somewhere? Is there some lightweight something-or-other that could go inside the door to make it sound more solid?

Hmmm I guess that clears things up for me. I test drove for the first time a P5 last week and noticed that door sounded kinda hollow when I slammed the door. It is pretty light.

First of all beat their asses for slamming your doors until they stop...some people have to be trained how to treat nice or nicely kept cars :) and light is good! Sound deadening is on my to do list... way at the bottom!

Hooray for Futurama!

Ha they'll learn alright. Unfortunately I slam my doors too. And amen to training people how to treat your car. I'm tired of messy people with dirty shoes on everything except my mats. I have a lot of people in and out of my car since I'm one of the few to have one in my friend group.

So how long could this deadening project take? Is it just a matter of ripping the inside of my door off and sticking the stuff on? And on second thoughts it's not that important if it costs that much. Any cheap alternative?

Take off, not rip off, your door peice. Apply sound deadening (not covering any holes for the clips and screws for the door peice), put door peice back on. Should take 30minutes per door as long as you don't break any clips

cheap alternative for people in the rear is child lock and you open and close the door for them
