I'm not a pro installer or anything, but I have installed quite a few systems in my time. I can NEVER remember adjusting the bass level to +7 in any system I have done for any reason. I currently have my NFL at -3 and can crank it with sweet sound. Even at 30degrees I was turning heads yesterday. (Maybe it's just the different car) Not sure who told you to turn the bass level up so high, but if you want to crank it, please avoid distortion, or our cars will be grouped into the ghetto-ville clunkers style, and noone wants that. If you play with the setting on the stereo, you'll be amazed what you can do. I listen to all types of music, a lot or rap and bass mainly, but yes, even country. I agree there could be more to the system, but that's why we're tuners. Don't knock the sub. BTW, you did buy it. Does that mean that you're just gonna keep buying crap? From the price/wattage specs I've seen thrown out, looks like it.
