When i start my car , the subwoofers just go BOOM then stop, and everything works fine , it just hits hard once then after that it is cool untile i turn my car off and restart it, if i dont turn the car on and i just turn it on the on position it doesn't do it, only after the engine is running, what the hell is up with that?

dont know what it is causing it either, its just really agervating when i start my car and Boom , then the music plays fine. its been like that since i installed the new deck cause my other one went boom.

I had that too in my old car. in my case, it was that the amp was turning on before the deck, so the signal being output from the deck on power up was being played by the amp. I solved it by putting an inline switch in the remote power lead, and just remembered to turn it on after the head unit. I'm sure there is another solution, but the benefit of this is that you can turn off your amp and subs in "high crime" areas while still having your stereo up kinda loud-ish... "stealth mode"... :)

i think i figured it out with that info, i have the amp turn on switch to a fuse in my panel that turns on when the engine is running, i guess ill run it to the deck now, i didnt want to run threw the dash again:( o well break out the solder and heat shrink..

all you need is a capacitor and a diode. get a 300-500 uF 16-20 volt DC polarized capacitor and 1N4002 diode. wire the positive from the cap to the remote turn on for the amp, and the negative to the negative on the amp. then run the diode inline with the remotoe turn on. the diode isolates the capacitor to the amp, so that the only thing it keeps on or delays turning on is the amp.

thats complicated, ill just let the remote turn on in the deck turn it on instead of the car itself.but thanks anyways.

here's a pic, it's not hard at all:

Sounds like you used the accessory lead so that when the key is on accessory the amp is switched on but when starting the car cuts the accessory circuit and then renergizes it quickly cuasing the pop.

I agree with you on using the remote wire as thats the correct way to do the install.

yeah, i just got lazy and that was a close wire, but thats whatr i get for short cutting it.. i tell u what though it wakes u up in the morning, bad thing is it wakes the neighboors too lol

jeff fronk, one of the iasca judges i worked with at spring break nationals, said that his vehicle has a 160 dB turn on pop(freak) course for a veteran of dB drags and idbl, he said that the turn on circuit i posted will add resistance to the amps, and for SPL comps, every tiny amount counts. course moe sab, world record holder for idbl last year, had a turn on pop of about 165 dB's(naughty)
