Has anybody had isses with their sub? specificaly, it stopping working for no reason? I know about turning it on and off and all the Q settings are the same, it just stopped working. :wtf: :'( :wtf: :'( :wtf: :'(

i've seen from other people that it could just be a lose connection. i dunno...

well I am taken her in on tuesday for the next set of bushings so I will have them look at it. I just dont want them to try and tell me that it was somthing that I did or that it is not covered under waranty.

i know i am stealing your thread but i am gonna do it anyway,

does anyone know if our stock amp is enough to power a 12in clarion subwoofer??

Yeah, mine just stopped working today. I also thought it is a loose connection. So... I tried to take it apart to fix it myself, but I have discovered that I can't get it open. What to do now?

Mine did the same thing - just stopped working. It's a warranty repair, don't let them tell you it's not, like they did to Dex! I took mine in and they replaced the entire subwoofer enclosure, not just the sub.

Mine hasnt worked since i bought the car. i took mine in to get fixed now the amp works but the sub didnt work. They replaced the whole sub and didnt test it b4 i came to pick it up. Anyway its going back in on monday.

1 month ago my sub and amp stopped working. I thought I blown them. It was sunday and the dealership was closed, so it just took it to some audio store to get it checked out. I was told it was a loose wiring. He fixed it and showed me the wire that was loose.

The next day the amp and sub stopped working again. WTF! anyways I checked all the wires and they looked intact. I knew the connection was loose though because sometimes when I take a turn hard enough the sub would go back on for a brief second!

I took it to the dealership and they said my sub and amp were blown. Lol! Got it whole thing replaced under warranty. Now everything works fine.

Just take your car to the dealership and get the sub and amp repplaced.

Mine died a month or so ago... the amp works fine, but no sub. I just haven't had time to take it to the dealership yet. I think a lot of people have had this problem.

my subs never stopped working but the enclosure was loose so every time i went over a bump it would rattle in my truck. i took it in to the dealership and the service man said that he was surprised mine still worked. he went on to tell me that nationwide everyone was getting them replaced. ....and it is covered by the warranty.

If both your sub and amp aren't working check the fuse before taking it to the dealer. It in the little black rectangular box connected the + terminal of your car's battery. Pop out the fuse and make sure it's not broken. If it is, replace the stock 15 fuse with a 20 or 25 (wouldn't suggest going larger than this) There's another fuse in the amp itself, but it's much harder to get in and out so check the battery one first.

I blew two fuses with the stock system befoe taking it out and dropping in my 12"s.

If it is the fuse you can get new ones at any Pep Boys and most grocery stores too.

It is a defective job on the part of Kenwood. What happens is the internal wiring of the sub shorts out, burns up and breaks. Kenwood is aware of the problem as well as Mazda. They will replace your entire rear deck (amp, sub, enclosure) at no cost to you. They replace it with a sub that has the correct wiring and a newer version of the amp. I have friends in top of the service dept. :D

is there a TSB for this cause my car has been in 2 times and they cant fix it. the replaced the sub and did something else but to no avail. Im getting frustrated by it.

Well I hope those of us who don't have friends at the dealer don't get shafted when our subs blow...:(

okae, mine just cut out yesterday. i installed my turbo timer, could they tell me that my warranty is voided by installing it ? 'cause it does tap into the car's system, but it doesn't have ne thing to do w/ the audio system so hmm...BLAH i want mine fixed NOW NOW NOW

Your warranty is absolutely intact. Remember, legally they cannot say the warranty is void unless they can prove it was your part that caused it. Some dealerships will BS a lot and say your warranty is voided when it shouldn't be; don't let them push you around
