Sub enclosure

I have a 97 protege and I am going to be putting in a new system. I thought I would get the guru's (and anyone else's) opinion on what type of enclosure I should use. I am deciding between ported or sealed. I have two 12" Rockford Fosgate Hx2 subs(RFD2212) that will be pushed with a 81000D MTX amp. the subs are 500 RMS each and the amp is supposed to be about 600W RMS(its been moded so it can push up to 1800W at peak). This is a mono amp, so the subs will be bridges together. Thanks ahead of time.

Hopping that your subs can be wired to present an overall 2 ohm load to the MTX you sould be fine. Sealed would be my prefered method in this case. Ported will gain some volume but you have to sacrifice the low end a nd use a infrasonic filter or risk the subs life. Sealed goes lower and more accurate but sacrifices slight volume to the ported.

what about, a dual bandpass?

The louder a band pass the moe you have to sacrife and just like borted box you have to use an infrasonic filter. bandpass can be the loudest box but it is the least accurate. Also a bandpass must be specificly designed or each sub. You'll usualy get the same or better spl from a properly made sealed box compared to the BB bandpass crap. Bandass boxes are the most diffucult to design and build. With a bandpass you not ususaly hear the sub distorting even though its an inch from destruction.

So, no on the bandpass.
