SU rear Engine Mount

My SU rear engine mount has started to pop often while accelerating. Has anyone else had this problem. I am thinking it needs to be tightened, but what do you guys think? The pop sounds like it is coming from below my shifter, under the car. Any thought? Thanks!

I would check all your motors mounts to make sure they are tight before I do anything.

yeah, my no. 4 mount is getting replaced tomorrow, after that we are going to check the torque on that rear SU mount.

Check the locknut on the mount to see if it came loose. I heard from another forum member that his came loose and was causing a weird sound. Also verify you torqued the bolts to their proper specs...

Since my near engine death a few months ago i have had no problems. It turned out the bolt broke. The dealer gave me a new bolt with locktite. And have had no problems since.

yep both bolts were torqued well below where they should be. the main bolt was only about 50lbs! no more popping now, and between that and the recall mount being redone. it drive 10 times better!

OEM Specs is about 55lbs - 65lbs. I have mine torqued to 90lbs from an airgun just to make sure. No problems so far.

my car clunked for a while with 3 different lower mounts.
i went in for my mount recall and guess what.....
my #4 mount was broken !!! the bolt was there and tight, but the rubber was torn up !! i got a new mount and upgraded bolt... no more clunk !!!
