stupid NM state legislature: interlock systems

So they are saying that they are going to stop the DWI problem by making every car have an interlock system when it's sold in 2008. That's the stupidest thing in the world. They want to punish everyone because of the idiot drunk drivers here...


Anyone else have a state with stupid @$$ legislation?

over the legal i think... but imagine that.. you get into your car and take a breathalizer test to go to work? and then you stop at the gas station for 5 min and take it again to start your car? How stupid is that?

damn, that does suck.....that's such a flawed system. punishments should just be higher. my sister's roomie was so trashed that she didn't realize she sideswiped three cars, then was able to get off with a fine and probation...she was underage too. it's such bulls*** that you can drink and drive, get caught, and go out and do it again the next night.

no kidding.. they should just throw you in the slammer overnight on first offence, give you a year on second offence.

I doubt that legislation will be passed cause you got too many old people there that probably aint got the lung capacity for a breathalyzer. The law would be disciminatory.
