i just finally purchased an 08 ms3. it is my first turbo car so i am just starting to read up on everything. but anyway, my friend had an older car that he sold; before doing so he took the old bov out to sell it since he was not going to use it on his new evo he had purchased. eventually he didnt bother trying to sell it and gave it to me for free. my question is, will the car be effected negatively in anyway putting this bov in with a completly stock intake/car?

the bov brand is rfl.

also if anyone has a link to a "how to" on the installation id appreciate it greatly since i cant seem to find one in the search

our can runs a BPV, which diverts the air back into the intake tract. Our cars do not run well with a BOV, which just blows all that air into the atmosphere. My advice is to sell the BOV your friend gave you b/c it won't run well on a MS3. Also, when running a stock airbox, an aftermarket BPV is hard to hear as well. If you want a louder blow off sound, you need to get an aftermarket intake, either SRI or CAI, even with either of those, the stock BPV makes much more noise.

Stock bpv is a more advanced design and works extremely well on even highly modded cars. Save your money for mods that actually improve performance.

You can still use the bov your friend gave you as long as you can fit the recirc line onto it, as what i did with mine. As they have stated tho you will not really hear it too well with stock airbox and the car runs great with the stock bpv with aftermarket intake & mods. So if you want a different sound then get an aftermarket bpv or bov.
