Stupid ass cop nearly kills young girl

Article above gives details about a deputy here in Raleigh, NC who was responding to a call in his big ol' POS caprice/crown vic and was going too fast and crossed the center line and crashed head-on with a teenage girl....the cop died and the girl is in serious condition. When will they start issuing cops a REAL car so they can actually drive without crashing into people. If they have one of those big sappy cop memorials for this dumbass I'm gonna go hide behind some trees and chunk rocks at 'em.

I agree. The guy was a father and husband and now leaves behind a family. It sucks the whole incident happened, but you act as though (loj68) it is one less cop you have to worry about, when in fact he was going to a domestic violence call (one of which was armed) and saves lives while putting his ass on the line for people who don't appreciate cops.

On the opposite side of the spectrum...a cop was run over here in MA while directing traffic. The young woman was late for work and when the cop told her to continue to wait at the intersection she floored it and ran him over.

What the article fails to mention was whether he was running with his lights and siren blaring. If he was , then there is a good possiblilty it might be a partial fault of the girl if she did not obey traffic ordinance that state to pull to the side of the road if an emergency vehicle is approaching. I have a feeling he was not, just would like all the facts. And with a capable driver, those big ass vehicle can probably outhandle many other cars on the road withg uncapable drivers. I love it how everyone wants to blame the cops for everything, yet are the first to complain when they are not around to help them!

i would never get pissed because a cop wasn't around...in fact i have never called a cop to help me...ever. nor would i ever unless there is a gun to my head... the ones around here are assholes, they may not be from where you are...but they are here. i got arrested for standing on a parkbench?! and i seriously don't do anything illegal...
they just don't like people being in the park. so i was standing on a park bench waving my arms to a car passing by that was my friend from not around here...didn't know where i was...and next thing i know i was handcuffed...$300 bail...**** the cops

Isn't it is amazing how many people show nothing but hatred and disrespect for cops and the job that they do. That is until they need them for something.

i can agree with this statement. but i have experienced and seen first hand the abuse of power by many officers. Their basic principles are OK but some are just plain assholes. There are way too many good ones out there. Its too bad some spoil the mix.
Also i have seen and noticed they sometimes drive way to recklessly whether they are called or just driving around on roads and highways.
they need to slow down.

As I can agree with those statements too. There are some bad ones out there and it is a shame those give all of them a bad name to some people.

Some people hate cops because it is them that they are being called on! i used to look down on cops, but as you get older, you appreciate the things people do to make this a safer place. I am not saying all cops are good, but don't judge them as a whole because of one bad apple out of the bunch. That comes with every aspect in life, there is always an asshole in the bunch no matter where you go. You just got to look beyond that person.

Hmm, I would really wonder if te lights/siren were on. That'd make the difference. As for the comments about the vics and caprices, the PI's handle really well. There is alway the possiblity that the officer was pushing too hard for the given road conditions, etc...

But I don't like the fact that usually no matter what, it's the civilains fault in an accident. I've seen too many cops being VERY stupid in thier cruisers. They don't set a very good role for the other people to respect them and the laws.

the article said he lost control and went into the other lane, girls fault or no, if she had pulled over she still would have been hit cuz by the time she saw him, she would have pulled into his line of crash, sides she just started driving, dont know about u, but when i started driving, i sucked, and when i see otehr new drivers they r even worse... so basically i would have to call :bs: on the sheriff to blame the girl if they do cz shes just inexperienced and he was headed for her no matter what, and if they blame the cop im gonna call :bs: cuz theose things are simply to big to go around a turn at 80, i have a friend who is a cop in training, he told me

I'm not "cop" hating here.......I'm "dumbass" hating.....anyone who thinks cop cars can handle needs to pick up the latest issue of Sport Compact Car where they test some police cars.......they are amazingly worse than I ever thought. This cop may very well have killed a teenage girl because he was a wreckless dumbshit....I don't care if he was a cop or a trashman.....he was an idiot. A month after we got our MSP we took some friends to dinner in it and on the way back we nearly got T-boned by a cop who sped full speed (approx. 50-60mph) through a red light without lights or a siren.......we probably missed getting killed by that asshole by 5 feet (MSP brakes RULE!). Another cop around here is being tried for vehicular homicide as well because he was drunk and ran into someone and killed them. 'nuff said.
