Actually, it's more confusing than that!twilightprotege said:much simplier than 12 inches = 1 foot. 3 feet = 2 yard 2000 yards = 1mile
12 inches = 1 foot / 3 feet = 1 yard / 1760 yards = 1 mile

Don't forget, 220 yards in a furlong, and 8 furlongs in a mile.njaremka said:Actually, it's more confusing than that!

Do you sail/boat? I have a question though...how do you know how far you've gone, when there isn't solid ground under you?akhilleus said:gen1gt and ahb11m are the winners!!!(first)
Instead of miles/hour, they measure in leagues/week....Installshield 2 said:Today its GPS...Before I have no idea...and what do they do in currents...If a ship is traveling against a current, they are traveling at a much less velocity relative to the sea floor than relative to the water...that was a physics problem in high school...But do they correct for that, or just never travel against a current???

i think the best thing of the metric system is that it's easy - everything is in groups of 10/100/1000 etc.
10mm = 1cm 100cm = 1m 1000m = 1km
1mg = 1g 1000g = 1kg 1000kg = 1 tonne
much simplier than 12 inches = 1 foot. 3 feet = 2 yard 2000 yards = 1mile
i have no idea about weights or volume measurements (ie gallon etc)
Totally worth it. A larger engine is more power AND torque. Personally, I've changed my mine, and I'm getting 11:1, 85mm pistons now, instead of the Miata 83.5, 10:1 pistons. Displacement won't hurt.....Projectp5NA said:The world challenge cars upped the bore to
84.5mm Bore (compare to 83mm) gave them 2064cc displacement
would it be worth it to do this with maybe 10.5:1 comp ratio?or would this be a waste of money?
