Street Racing

I have a part time job as a web developer for a local newpaper, and one of the editorials this week is about Street Racing.

Its a good read and will help illustrate events that result from street racing.

A qoute from the article: If you are caught street racing, except at legal sanction events, you could lose your car, be fined, jail time, see increase in auto insurance and most of important, lose your license for up to 60 days.

intresting article, that is a good idea though about the undeveloped areas allowing racing. although, that would only really work in remote areas. I live in CT and its a very dense area, the racing in my area is a organized large group of people, they don't really care about where or when..they just go. it is unfortunate however about the accidents that do happen, although I have never seen one occur, they are inevitably bound to happen. I do drive harder than the norm, yes, but never to level which would result in a tragedy like one of those. Basically, the street racing problem won't ever really go away, stricter laws will be imposed, and new ways will be found to get around them. but, a good article none the less

is that all they got on people killed? more people die while commuting to work across america in a single day than people get killed during street racing in a month also across america... i like the idea about street racing in an undevoloped area... problem is that someone is going to impose a fee to get in and the problems gonna start all over again, people dont want to pay to race, they have paid enough for their car plus gas plus everything else that they have... unless they can find a way to make it so that racers can race without paying to race... itz gonna keep on going...

i mean, i race..whatever..me and my friends..we line them up in the straight-away behind where I work..no one gives us s*** about it and its off the road..i seldomly condone street racing though..making kids pay to race will NEVER work..they just aren't going to do it..end of story..
